We stopped in Garmish twice during a European auto trip. We stayed at the Best Western which was located a short walking distance from the center of the town.
The hotel room was fantastic, with a balcony overlooking the hotels garden and the Zugspitze in the distance. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was great also. WiFi is available only in the lobby.
We really enjoyed our stay in one of favorite places in Europe.

The only good things about this hotel: the location, the view of the mountains, and the restaurant. The rooms are tiny and in desperate need of remodeling. The pillows were completely flat so we had to request additional pillows. The elevator is the smallest I've ever seen in my life, and I took the stairs to avoid feeling as if I would be trapped. The parking situation was horrible--I don't think you could even call it a parking lot. I'm just glad this was a business trip and not a vacation!

Very comfortable rooms, beautiful views, nice bathroom (though a bit small), local charm, good restaurant and fantastic breakfast spread, but most important of all - great customer service and a very helpful staff. We visited in June, and it was so nice to open the double doors (leading to a spacious balcony), with a babbling brook below, and stellar views of the Alps in the distance. We slept like babies every night in the very comfortable bed. We had two teens with us (separate room) and they loved the hotel amenities - plenty to do for a few nights for two rambunctious teen boys. We will definitely be back!

Upon arrival to the resort where I booked our reservation we found out that there was an error incommunication and we had arrived a day early; so the rep at the resort contacted this hotel, Best Western Hotel, Obermuehle, and found they had two rooms available for one night and would give us a discounted rate with the referral from the resort. Our rooms were lovely, not the usual small european hotel rooms. The bathrooms have the most recent renovations (toilet doesn't "spit", adjustable shower. If you've been to europe you know what I'm talking about). Flat screen TV, small kitchenette. The staff are very nice. Breakfast is included and is a generous buffet. I arrived in the diningroom at 9:58 (breakfst ends at 10) and the cook made fresh eggs for myself & hubby, and there was still plenty of food left on the buffet. No one minded that our group stayed another half hour and drank coffee while taking their time with breakfast. We had dinner the night before in the hotels' other restaurant and the food was delicious, service was very good. Location of hotel is central to all there is do in Garmisch (which is quite a lot). All in all I would highly recommend this hotel for your stay in Garmisch.
