We booked 2 nights at Hotel Bavaria arriving on New Year's Eve. Though the hotel was busy preparing for the evening, we were promptly greeted. Our host Wolfgang enquired if we had plans for dinner. He said that a buffet was being served and he would reserve a table for us if required. This was the best dinner we had during our month in Germany. The chef is very very good - delicious Bavarian dishes such as Venison Goulash and Roast Goose were provided and the plentiful buffet was replenished regularly . The entree and dessert selection were also excellent. Other highlights were the jacuzzi in the fantastic bathroom and the views of Watzmann from the balcony. Wolfgang's wife was in hospital at this time so he must have been busy and stressed but he was always pleasant and charming, as were the staff in this lovely, comfortable family run hotel.

I visited here September '11, and I absolutely loved it here! Everything was perfect, and everyone was very helpful. It was a clean, quite little place with an excellent breakfast bar. I will definitely be visiting the Hotel Bavaria again on my trip back to Germany.

“Absolutely Fabulous!”
We were a party of 7 and celebrated Christmas at The Hotel Bavaria. We had the most fabulous time. Petra, Wolfgang and their son Andre were wonderful. Nothing was too much trouble and they together with other members of staff worked very hard to make our stay such an enjoyable one. The hotel Christmas decorations were beautiful.
We all had lovely spacious bedrooms with whirlpool bath, and the breakfast buffet was fantastic. The sauna and steam room was most welcome after the guys returned from skiing.
We decided to have Christmas Eve in the hotel and the dinner buffet was out of this world, all cooked by Wolfgang.
We were given Guest passes by Petra for the buses and travelled free to Lake Konigsee, Bad Reichenhall, Jenner Mountain and Salzburg (45 min journey with a 2 euros each way supplement) The town of Berchtegaden is so picturesque and together with lots of snow, fairy lights and Christmas market stalls made the whole experience magical!
We were all very sad to leave but promise to return.

“breathtaking Berchtesgaden”
Hotel Bavaria is a family-run hotel with amazing views and an excellent location! Our bedroom was very comfortable and had an amazing view of the surrounding mountains. We visited Berchtesgaden over the festive season and had a wonderful stay. The hotel is situated directly between the train station and the old town center, where we experienced the most magical Christmas market!

This was my 3rd stay at Hotel Bavaria in the last 2 years, and I'll keep coming back! Wolfgang, Petra, & Andre are superb hosts and make me feel welcome as soon as I open the front door. They are always checking to make sure everything is ok, and if something isn't, they take care of it right away. As everyone mentions, the breakfast buffet is fantastic. If you leave breakfast still hungry, it's your own fault!
Hotel Bavaria is an excellent value for the price, and the location is awesome!
