We stayed here for four nights as part of the Bayreuth Leger coach tour. We'd repeatedly told Leger that we were vegetarian and they in turn assured us that the hotel would be able to cater for us. Out of our four nights there, we had only one edible, proper meal. As this was over the Christmas period, we were particularly disappointed - why is it so difficult for hotels to cater properly for people who don't eat meat or fish? We were promised vegetable lasagne one night but this didn't materialise until the following evening; in effect, we were only offered salad as a starter (except for the one night when, miracle of miracles, they managed to prepare a soup without meat or fish for us), and pasta with tomato sauce (looked like heated up ketchup to us...). Very very disappointing. Despite this being a four star hotel, the public spaces (at least those available to us) were extremely small; the bar was minute and, if you didn't hurtle yourself into this tiny little space immediately after your meal, there was no room and all seats were taken up with people helping to ensure a wholly carcinogenic atmosphere throughout. You could barely see for smoke. So, apart from THIS 'space', there were four seats in reception...or your room. That was it. Most disappointing - maybe they could open up one or more of their much-vaunted conference rooms when groups of tourists are staying with them - they lost a lot of money because people just left immediately after dinner since so little space was available.
Don't bother.
