I am amazed that no one has reviewed the Drechselgarten!! I have been visiting Ansbach since I established a company there in 1988 and have had the pleasure of staying at the Drechselgarten on every visit (approx 100 visits). I have had week long business meetings there, enjoyed the food (simple and gourmet German) in the 2 restaurants, the views of the town and surrounding area is a delight from the balcony adjoining the "English Pub" and there's even a sauna and skittles lanes in the basement. The town is only a 10 minute stroll down the hill but a 20 minute walk back up the hill!! The staff are delightful, efficient, friendly and do everything to make your visit comfortable. The hotel can book up very quickly with Japanese tourists in the Summer so be quick in your booking. Ansbach is very convenient for the autobahns to Munich, Nuremberg and Frankfurt.
