For starters, the good things. The restaurant is really excellent.
I had the Swabian Ravioli. My wife had the trout (forelle). For some
reason the breakfast is in a dark and crowded room near the kitchen and not in the dining room next door. The food is OK.
Nothing at all wrong with the room. Clean. Good bed. The problem
is the Church around the corner has a bell which sounds on the
quarter hour all night long. With no AC in the place you have no
choice but to open the window. There is also some noise associated with the parking lot (free) which is in the rear of the
hotel. Patrons at the sports bar downstairs exit throughout
the night.
Ulm is an interesting city and the downtown is well worth a visit.
WWII buffs may be interested in visiting the spot where the Gestapo forced Fieldmarshall Erwin Rommel to take his own life or face humiliation for not informing on those who wished to kill Hitler. The roadside shrine along with his home and grave are in nearby Herrlingen.
