I stayed at the old Movenpick in 2010. This newer property is wonderful. Location is right across the street from the airport. At the airport there is also a train terminal that will take you right into Stuttgart very inexpensively and efficiently. There is a fair sized bar and workout room on the lower level, a restaurant on the lobby level and being a fairly new hotel, the rooms are spacious and quite modern.
I would highly recommend this hotel if you were getting into Stuttgart late, or if you had an early morning flight out. I do not know if there are hotels closer to downtown Stuttgart, and if there are, I don't think that they would be as nice as this hotel is.
The only thing that I don't like about this hotel is that you still have to pay $12 euro for internet access.
I'm glad that they still have their trademark rubber duck in the bathroom.

I stayed at this hotel as I was arriving at Stuttgart in the evening for business meetings. The hotel could not be closer to the terminal, however I heard no aircraft noise during the night. The business facilities are excellent with a number of meeting rooms. The room itself felt brand-new with high quality fittings and furnishings. I had both dinner and breakfast in the hotel restaurant. Dinner was excellent, there was a short delay between starter and main course, but the main course of fillet steak was certainly worth the wait. For breakfast there is an extensive selection of very well presented dishes. For this short visit I wasn't able to use the gym, but checked it out and found it to be very good, for my next visit. Checkout was very efficient and the price paid very good considering the location. The hotel was biooked for me by a colleague, so I was unaware of the method used. Overall a very enjoyable visit in a superb hotel, I'm looking forward to my next stay already.

After a visit to Germany I was looking for a hotel close to the airport to avoid the morning rush hour stress. My flight departed back to the US the following day from Stuttgart Airport. I found the Mövenpick hotel adjacent from the airport terminal. The price was not too bad given the fact I got a cheaper rate through hotels dot com. The room are clean and stylish designed. Staff is friendly and very helpful. Great German hospitality. The breakfast buffet is delicious especially the Mövenpick coffee. The walk to the terminal takes you 2 min. This hotel is very convenient, clean and close to everything. A cab ride to downtown takes you about 15-20 min and will cost you approximately 30 euros ( 45 US dollars ).
I highly recommend this place if you want to stay close to the Airport the night before your departure.

A missed flight forced me to stay overnight here. I had bed (extremely comfortable) and breakfast (delicious rosti and german sausages). Breakfast served until about 11 a.m, which was ideal....one could make it brunch!

The rooms are adequately spacious and the bathrooms have an oriental feel to them, with black basalt stone type tiling and walk in showers.

The hotel is right on the airport concourse and convenient for check in, but beware the lifts - you need your key card to operate them, a useful security measure, but one which confused me to start with.

Ideal and very fit for purpose!
