“Back to the 70's! Great staff.”

Our triple room was a good size. Very old school and dated but clean and with a huge bathroom. The location was not really close to the trains so we had to hike a bit but the hotel staff made up for it. The woman at the counter was very friendly and helpful. Out of all the hotels we stayed at during our trip she was able to give us exact directions to where we needed to go and excellent food & beverage recommendations.

“Hotel location is fantastic, but hotel itself is not so amazing.”

The hotel itself is not very big, the single room I was given was also very small. The toilet has a bath tub, but there is o curtain. I noticed that there was a drainage on the bathroom floor which I guess means any water that might drop onto the floor will just go though that. However, this does not make it very comfortable. The towels were not good qualits and actually irritated my skin. The room was also not as clean as I would expect it to be! There was a big amount of dust that was collected along the panel by the bed, and also some was stuck on the wooden panel above the bed. The colors of the walls on the corridor, and inside the room were too dark! This made the already small space look even smaller.
The only good thing with this hotel was the location, in the centre and 2mins walk away from the stadmitte station.

“Cute retro feel in city centre.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 April 2010

We were looking for a handy located hotel for a brief stopover in Stuttgart and after checking availability, very late, found the Royal. It's quirky in that old European way, all good I guess, just nothing to rave about. The location is sort of handy, not as close to railway main station as I would've liked but great for shopping and city sightseeing.

“location location location”

great location. walking distance to old town, shopping and restaurant. 1-2 min walk to rotebuhlplatz-stadtmitte station. 25min to stuttgart airport. (s2 or s3 train) People at front desk were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was not worth $14 euro for sure. Our room was very dated and smelled because of old carpet. No shower curtain so bathroom floor got soaked. Cigarette smell all over. I have to say we were very disappointed with our choice, glad we stayed there only 1 night. There was no way I could take it another night. I don't know how they get 4 star. It's too bad because staff were so nice, and it's in perfect location. loved stuttgart though. very clean and tourist friendly city for sure.

“Stuttgart hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 April 2009

A group of us stayed at the Royal Hotel Stuttgart over a weekend, the hotel is in a great position, very near great public transport, very near good shops/bars/restaurants and very near main sights of Stuttgart,we cought train from airport about 25 min journey.
The hotel has very helpfull staff, the decor in the hotel public area & rooms is not to my taste -but rooms are clean and comfy with large bathroom (bath & seperate shower), there is no mini bar in room, the breakfast was excellent with plenty of choices
