There seems to be a nice restaurant in, although did not have the opportunity to eat there.

An absolute steal! this hotel is a few stations from the Hauptbahnhoff (main train station) of Stuttgart. About 10 minutes' walk from the station, it is in a very quiet suburb (looks like a residential area). Not much near the hotel, but there is a supermarket and a bakery about 5 minute walk up the road, and it's a 10 minute walk to the Porsche Museum. The hotel has a bar, a good restaurant and a lift, and the staff are very nice and speak English well. Hotel room is very clean and quiet, with a bar fridge in the room, a good hair dryer provided and a very comfortable bed (an actual double bed). We had a room on the top floor with a view over the surrounding hills. Staff spoke English well, and were very nice. The restaurant makes good pizza, for Eu7.50. Breakfast is a bit expensive, Eu 13 per person and wi-fi is Eu 8 per hour or Eu 13 for 24 hours. Would definitely stay here again if we were in the area.

Location:
10 mins walk to Zuffenhausen main road for restaurants. 10 mins walk to S-Bahn station which is about 4 stations or 15 mins away from the centre of town ("Stadtmitte" station). €2,40 single fare per person.
The hotel is situated very close to an industrial estate with very little in immediate vicinity. There is a Lidl (supermarket) 5 mins walk away and also a nice little bakery right by the Lidl for a cheap alternative to the hotel breakfast.
Very close to the Porsche Museum, probably about 3-5 mins drive.
There is also a car wash facility with 4-5 washing bays next to the Lidl, useful if doing a car tour like us.

Additional:
This hotel was superb value for money at the €40 we paid for a double room for dual occupancy. I certainly did not expect the high standard for the money and would definitely recommend this hotel if visiting the Porsche Museum. There is a covered car park beneath the hotel which is cheap at less than €5 for 24 hours.

We staye3d at the golden ;leaf in Schaffenhausen, Stuttgart and selected this hotel based on the reviews from other travellers in rip Advisor. Spot on, it is very near the Porsche museim, our main purpose for this trip. The staf bis friendly, the waiter, the rooms are very clean and it is comfortable. It is a 3 star hotel and does what the package says.
Definitely would recommend if you are looking for a place to stay close to the Mercedes-Benz and Porsche museums, and as a base to visit Stuttgart and surroundings.
