“Functional, sparse rooms, not great but certainly not bad”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 May 2010

This was my first visit to Mannheim and hence took pot luck on the hotel.

It's about a 5 minute cab journey from the Hauptbahnhof, and I was greeted by a queue of people checking in at reception, with only one person on the desk. Thankfully someone else soon appeared, yet it still took over 5 minutes to check me in.

For some reason I was allocated a smoking room (no-one told me on check-in), and the stench of cigarettes in the corridor of the 3rd floor was disgusting. I almost turned round but thought I'd give the room a chance. Thankfully, the room was entirely free of cigarette smell (an ashtray was provided so this was definitely a smoking room).

The room was basic, and there were no tea or coffee making facilities. There was a small mini-bar with soft drinks and some beer, along with chocolate bars and nuts. Two twin beds were provided, and the one i used gave a very comfortable night's sleep. The room was clean and was in a good decorative order.

The bathroom was small and seemed to be 'dropped in' to the room (maybe a modular build hotel??). The bath was small, and was only suitable for a shower. The sink unit was plastic. However, it was spotlessly clean.

Dinner at the restaurant was OK, albeit the menu had a very limited choice. However, breakfast was excellent - a really good choice of hot and cold buffet food.

There was nothing fundamentally wrong with this hotel, but if I do go back to Mannheim i will try and search out somewhere else.

“top marks for a business stop over”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 March 2010

Upon arrival ample car parking and good welcome from the reception staff
Room spacious, modern with a very comfy (hard) bed- better than most business hotel rooms.
Only issue with the room was that I was unable to get internet access; gave up after a few attempts
Had an excellent meal/drinks at the bar followed by a quiet, comfy sleep
Breakfast was impressive- wide selection of food to choose from and well presented
Location of the hotel was great as we only had a 3min walk to the offices
Would definitely return

“Nice place, I've been to better”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 August 2009

Service was excellent. Pool was way small. Restaurant was average. Right accross from Park, but if you drive, you will have to do several circles to get out and on to Autobahn. Within walking distance of Parks and attractions like baseball and soccer field, planetarium, and a few restaurants.

“Functional Business Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 May 2009

The Park Hotel is a good, functional business hotel alternative in Mannheim. It is located outside of the city center near the Planetarium. There is on-site parking. Access to the Tram system of Mannheim is very easy, and you can get to anywhere in the city using that system.

Breakfast is excellent. The dinner menu, although somewhat limited, is also good.

There is no on-site workout facility, and as of this time, the hotel has not made an arrangement with any of the gyms in the area for possible use by guests.

“expensive, but a good experience”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 May 2009

City was sold out, but found a room for 196 euros, close to $300 American, and a small, cramped room. breakfast was excellent, most desk personnel good, women much better than men. Not a good value, but very clean and lucky to get a room on a sold out date in Mannheim.
