My husband and I only stayed here one night, but we would come back to this hotel again. The location is great, as it is right by the old bridge and within close walking distance of the entire old town. Yes, parking is inconvenient, but that is to be expected in this part of town. We were treated very well by the staff even though our German is poor! The room was clean and bright - our room was on the second floor, overlooking the restaurant patio - we did not have any major issues with noise. The bathroom was modern and clean. Breakfast was in a nice setting and they had set out a nice, varied spread. We really liked this hotel!

We liked our stay in the hotel, the rooms are very beautifully decorated and we especially liked the large design bathroom. It was a pity however there was no airco; sleeping with open windows was not an option because of the noise in the street. Also the hotel had no parking facilities, so we had to leave the car in a public parking quite far from the hotel.

Spent a long weekend in Heidelberg to take in the Weihnachtsmarkts here and in surrounding towns. Our two-story suite (Junior Suite 1) had a splendid view of the Old Bridge out the front and of Heidelberg Castle out the back (upstairs room). Very large rooms for a German hotel even considering that it was a suite. Modern decor. Large bathroom with modern fixtures, etc. satellite TV (flat screen). Everything worked fine. good breakfast buffet. good Restaurant (Wirtshaus Zum Nepomuk). Nearest parking is Parkhaus 13, about 3 blocks away; this may be an issue for some, but for us it was a pleasant walk to the car, plus an opportunity to grab some goodies from the bakery next to Parkhaus 13. You can, however, park directly in front of the hotel to load and unload luggage (Note: the metal posts that block the front parking area from the street can be pulled out to allow access; I learned this watching the morning delivery men).

We have stayed at the Alten Brucke in 2006 and returned again this year with an infant in tow and stayed 6 days. Once again, the property managers Alex and Rainer made sure our stay was comfortable. Breakfast is simple with your usual german meats, cheeses, breads, cereal, yogurts, juices, and fruits. We had several dinners and sometimes lunch at the hotel restaurant. The food was delicious and service was good. The room was spacious, moderate and clean (roomy enough to accomodate our infant without a problem). Centrally located in old town. You can pull you car right up to the front of the hotel to unload your luggage and carry it into the hotel, but not sure how long you could park there. We even rented a car and had no trouble locating the hotel.
