As usual I booked this hotel based on Tripadvisor rating. The Hotel is in an unremarkable location but is saved by it's proximity to the Tram system which gets you to downtown Heidelberg in a few minutes and is an excellent service. Tickets are cheap and are available from the Hotel.
The service was very friendly and helpful, but we were not offered the opportunity to use the restaurant as it was fully booked on Saturday and closed on Sunday.
The double room we booked was very clean, but very small and badly lit. I think this might not be typical of every room, but it was the one we were offered. It was also quite noisy as it faced the main road. Next time I would stay in the Villa Marstall in the Altstadt. It's inconvenient as there is no parking there, but the quality of the rooms is much better.
We had dinner at the Hackteufel and Kulturbrauerei - both of which were excellent.

Wonderful place, wonderful staff.....Clean, Clean, Clean....Magnificent restaurant!

We stayed 2 nights at this hotel. Initially, we chose the hotel because they had parking and was located close to a tram stop. We were so glad that we did! The hotel was quiet, the staff was friendly, and their evening restaurant was excellent. It was probably one of the best meals we had during our 2 week trip. Presentaiton was lovely and food superb. We walked from the tram stop after dark, and the area appeared to be a family oriented safe area. Parking was easy. If you will be using the tram, you may find better pricing for packages rather than buying at the hotel -- check around. Definitely would stay at the hotel again.

It is the only Hotel in Heidelberg that offers WLAN!
It was a quite fast connection and it was no problem to use VPN to the intranet of my company. They seem to have much experience with WLAN and also wired ethernet link are available if you do not have a WLAN adapter.
The Hotel itself is very nice and the staff is friendly. Their restaurant was my favourite in town because you get very good food and as everything at a very fair price.
Even if you do not need WLAN you will surely like this place.
