While this small hotel is located near the main hub of activity it is not near the main train station. It's not the hotels fault, it's just the main train station is located in a far away place for some reason unlike most European capital cities. You can catch a bus or tram to the main town then walk a little bit. It does have classic decor but it's homey.

I stayed in many places during my 6 week holiday in Europe some had breakfast included in the room cost some didn't but this place shocked me the most as the breakfast here was the best overall, you the get the standard European breakfast with cold meat and cheese but you get variety, you get yoghurt, fresh fruit, many different spreads and home made jam, warm eggs, muesli, dried fruit and cereal. When it all runs out it is refilled quickly.

This family-run hotel is probably one of the very best hotels at a reasonable price in the heart of Heidelberg. The interior is very attractive, the staff are extremely nice and friendly. The breakfast is among the riches a traveler can get in a hotel. The hotel is right to the Bismarckplatz, the shopping heart of Heidelberg. I really enjoed my stay there and will recommend this hotel, especially for family stays.

I use Trip Advisor to determine where I stay when I travel and I felt the poor review of this hotel must have come from someone who stayed at a different hotel.

This small hotel is terific! We arrived after 11PM and the hotel made arrangements to accomodate us. The hotel is on a quiet street within walking district of Old Town. The room was quite nice and was spotless with a bathroom as nice as any first class hotel. The breakfast buffet offered a wide choice of breads, cereals, yogurt, fruits, and cold cuts etc. And we found the staff to be quite helpful and they did their best to make us feel comfortable.

Travelled to this hotel in Nov 05. Didn't write a review at the time, but was prompted to do so after reading the bad review from Jan 06. The hotel is in a shopping precinct and it's very quiet at night and on a Sunday. We thought this was a bonus. Rooms were fine and we thought the food was fine too. There was a huge breakfast buffet, and we enjoyed our evening meal. We went for the Christmas markets in Bonn and Cologne, so admittedly we didn't stay around the hotel in the daytime, but we would definitely stay there again. It was quiet, peaceful and clean.
