Exellent location in the old town. I had a balcony opening to the Alte Brücke and the Neckar, wonderful. It seems, though, that it is a long way from the new town, but the public transport seems to work well. And one of the major shopping streets is some 100 m South of the hotel anyway. The hotel is very nice, quite small, the lift is small and noisy, the room was quite small. Stil I think that this hotel deserves full points. The room was clean and comfortable with a balcony. I slept very well. The breakfast was one of the best that I have seen and eaten, the staff was friendly in a genuine way. There are plenty of restaurants and bars and shops, and places to see near the hotel.I enjoyd my stay and the hotel very much.
Remember to visit the castle, a magnificient view from there, you can actually walk there from the hotel. Otherwise you will be hate yourself. Also, there is a great old "kneipe" (bar/restaurant) The Zum Seppl located near (Haupstrasse 213). Great atmosphere, superb beer, god food, and the hostess is very cute.

I stayed in 343 which was large for Europe, sunny, bright, with a high ceiling and made me smile as soon as I walked in and had my view of The Bridge which is on the cover of my memoir My Germany. A friend pointed out after I checked in I was staying in the pink building on the cover! But even it wasn't on my book, I was happy my reservation was changed here because I needed wifi and they have it WLAN (pronounced veylahn). Staff was uniformly friendly and helpful, wifi was free and worked well almost all the time, and you can walk anywhere in the town center from here. I'd happily stay here again even with the road noise because I prefer not having a hotel on or right near the main street. Breakfast was above average, but then I've been in half a dozen hotels on this book tour. I base my rating for that on the smoked salmon which tends to be a good touchstone.

We loved this hotel - it is a quaint hotel on an ideal setting - near the Neckar River bridge and the Castle. Everything is within walking distance. We walked the Philospher's Walk on the other side of the river - lovely view of the city and castle from across the river. Restaurants and shopping are within walking distance. They have parking, but you don't need to take your car out. The staff are very friendly, courteous, English-speaking people. The rooms are wonderful like suites - high ceilings, spacious rooms, very clean - you feel like royalty. Rates were reasonable.

We were there on 9-11-01 and they were so supportive since we are Americans.

Perfect location near the old town and Philosophers walk. Beautiful views overlooking the river. Reception was a bit cold and one of those places you have to hand the key back everytime you go out which I forget to do and get called back. Breakfast was lovely. You can park out the front to offload luggage but you must move the car a few blocks back to a public car park.
I would reccommend this as the place to stay in Heidelburg.
