The large hotel is on a street with lots of trees and green. The reception was very polite and professional. The room was a bit on the small side, but there was plenty of space. There was no air conditioning, but there was a fan in the room. Luckily, we didn't need it. The cars at night were quite loud, playing loud music, so maybe we should have used the fan. The bathroom was so so (dated), but clean. The best part of this hotel was the location. We were within 5 minutes of the city center. We did not eat breakfast at the hotel, it cost €9 per person, though it was an organic (Bio) restaurant, so it could have been interesting. The hotel also offered free Wi-fi and if you don't have your laptop with you, there is a computer in the lobby for guest use. I would definately recommend this hotel.

Was here recently on a vacation trip to the area. The hotel is very nice, clean, decent service and a great breakfast. The room was somewhat small but adequate, clean, comfortable. It was a short walk to the main area of Freiburg which was great. The main problem was THE NOISE all night. It's on a very busy thoroughfare in Freiburg (looks are deceiving, it seems to be "off the beaten" path but is actually a way out of or though town...noisy trucks, very loud buses, and lots of cars) Because there is no air conditioning (and I was there in a heat wave), the windows had to be kept opened which didn't help. The noise was continuous from night until morning. I hardly slept at all. The only thing that redeemed the visit was a very ample breakfast in the morning which included various breads, eggs, meat, cheeses, cereals, fruit, etc. We were able to go on our way, exhausted but adequately fed. I would say it's a great place if you can sleep with earplugs or can sleep through a lot of racket. Otherwise, go somewhere else. I would say that I could recommend it for a fall or winter visit but for a hot summer night, I would say no.

Comfortable rooms, directly in the city of freiburg but calm, not too expensive, excellent food (when you like german stuff), the party on new years eve was cool!

We stayed at this hotel for six days, mid March, having made a reservation through the HRS website. From the moment we arrived at the hotel, and throughout our six night stay we were totally satisfied with the service we received. The room was very clean and comfortable, the breakfast options were extensive, and all the hotel staff were very pleasant and helpful. Without a doubt this hotel provided everything we expected, and more....As a member of a group of hotels we will look into staying at others in Kolping group next time we visit Germany.
