Short walk from the main bus and train station and very close to the Munster - very friendly staff, lovely large room with comfortable beds and good shower.

Its been a bit over 4 years since I wrote my review of this 3 star hotel.
I was glad to see the owners have not neglected or compromised on
the good standard of this hotel.

We stayed three nights. We got the bigger room, our name and address
was still in their computer even though its been over 4 years since we
last stayed there. The room was spotless, the breakfast was much the
same as before.

Even though they do not seem to change the beeakfast, the variety is
great, different jams, cheese, rolls, bread, yogurt, juices. Tea a large
selection, coffee and scrambled eggs.

The prices changed a bit about 10-20 euros approximately from
4-5 years ago.

The charge of 8 euros for the garage has not changed.

To my utter delight you can connect to wireless Internet for the
price of 5 euros per day, or use for free the computer at the reception.
So its not free but 5 euros are really not that much.

I do recommend this hotel warmly. In my opinion its better than many
other 3 or even 4 star hotels.

The location is ideal if you are in Freiburg as a tourist. The front desk staff were very helpful and friendly, with near-perfect English. The room was a little small, but quiet, clean, and generally comfortable with a firm bed. The morning breakfast was simply excellent, with an ample variety of tasty and nutritious food. They even brought out coffee made to order, e.g., milchkaffee etc.

Two minor complaints: (1) The TV was small even for a small hotel room. (2) The shower stall/booth in the bathroom was really small and at 160 lb I am not that big. Some people would find ti to be a real squeeze.

We stayed at this hotel after reading through the reviews on tripadvisor and we were not disappointed. As the other reviews have mentioned, the hotel is located right on the edge of the old town and is very convenient for tourists. There is a parking garage available, which was important for us (although we kept missing the turn in to the hotel, I thought my GPS was misleading me, it looked like I had to turn into a building...) The rooms were clean and of good size, and quiet. Breakfast was simple but filling, with your typical breads, meat, cheese, juice and cereal. They also had eggs and sausage, which was a nice touch. We would recommend this hotel to anyone who does not want to spend a lot of money on a hotel but is looking for a nice, simple quiet place to stay near the city center.
