My husband and I stayed here in September 2011. The hotel was very nice, small with a boutique feeling.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms although quite small were nonetheless very clean and modern. That said we only went for the standard room so it was good value for money.
On the first day we decided to have breakfast at the hotel until we got our bearings. The breakfast was so good with lots of organic produce that we breakfasted there the rest of our trip!
As the hotel did not have a restaurant we ate out and the choice in Freiburg is excellent. We did however sample some of the cocktails in Hemmingway bar - very good!
The hotel also laid on free tea and coffee in the afternoon and huge brollies could be borrowed - very welcome for the rainy day we experienced.
The hotel is well situated and is very good and we would return. The city of Freiburg itself is gorgeous, very medieval fell to it and great for just wandering about. Be warned though on a Sunday EVERYTHING shuts down except the odd cafe or restaurant.
