Even though the rooms are a bit dated and basic (often typical for 4* stars in Germany) they were very clean and well furnished.A bit on the expensive side. The owner said there was no other accommodation in the place but the next morning we saw a more simple (and cheaper!)guesthouse called Wirtshaus zum Loewen. Most of the people dining were staying there. Both food and atmosphere in the restaurant were excellent. Car park is always full so that has to be a good sign. We were just passing through from Gengenbach (It is shown as Dusseldorf-home to Augustus Gloop in the new Charlie and the Chocolate factory) to Stuttgart and were sorry we didn't have a second night here. We didn't have time for the pool etc.The setting was very pictoresque and peaceful with an old stone bridge over a small river and a nice view of the old Abbey and a very nice treelined park.
We would definitely go back for a longer stay.
