I stayed at les carres pegases with my friends in July! We had an amazing time- the rooms were clean and tidy and quite nice though the bathroom needed a bit of an update- but everything worked perfectly. The kitchenette was also very handy and we had croissants and made coffee on the hob! There wasn't air conditioning but we slept with the window open and that was bearable in July- it was very quiet also as we were at the back of the hotel!

The staff were very helpful and helped us order a taxi etc. They didn't provide towels in the rooms but we were aware of this from previous reviews and so took our own, when I asked she said it was because the rooms were at a discounted rate which is fair enough!

As far as location goes it was fab, the tram stops down the bottom of the road by the river tho we walked everywhere. The city centre was just over the river and the old town was just over the other river from the city centre.

All in all we had an amazing trip- the hotel was cheap clean and convienient and I'd definately stay again :-)

I went to Lyon for a weekend with two other friends. This hotel was perfect for us; It was easy to get to from Lyon Part Dieu and was a 10 minute walk to the centre of Lyon. It is close to the University and is in a very safe and quiet area.
We had a room for 3 and it was large and very clean. The kitchenette was also very useful. It was good value for money, but then again we didn't have the breakfast, which did seem to me to be a bit pricey.

A 2-star place in the Guillotière region of inner Lyon, the Carrés Pegases is handily located for most areas. Although not as shiny and new as its website implies, the hotel is well set-up with good facilities.

The rooms are a decent size (we were upgraded to a duplex studio), with ensuite bathrooms and a small kitchenette. There is a Lidl supermarket just up the road for self caterers, and numerous cafes, bars and restaurants within walking distance.

Unfortunately, the wi-fi access is not free, in contrast to an increasing number of hotels these days. We were also unfortunate to arrive on a day when their electronic systems were down, causing some anxious late night moments as all the details we entered into the automated check-in system failed to be recognised.

Whilst the hot water was that yellow-brown colour often seen in France, the shower worked well. It would have been nicer if a proper cabinet replaced the clingy shower curtain, but it served our needs.

Whilst we weren’t super impressed with the hotel, the location was good, and the price reasonable. The buffet breakfast available looked to be OK, but at €8.50 per person, self-catering was the better option for us.

Worth considering for a few days in Lyon.

The rooms are really nice, they are like small apartments, spacious and with kitchen. All the conforts are provided. Location is good, it's not really in the centre but you can reach it with just 10minutes walking. The staff was friendly but the reception is not open all the times so there might be problems to collect your luggage.
