The Collège Hotel in Lyon is a very funny place in Lyon. I discovered it in a design magazine and was totally seduced by the idea. All the deco in the Hotel is directly inspired by the school mood of the fifties, the breakfast place, witth school tables, the lounge with large sofas and an old tv, a lot of pictures and so on, even in the rooms.
The room we had, at the highest level of price for this 3 stars hotel, around 155 euros without the breakfast (+ 12 euros per person if I remember well, and not exceptional) + free wifi. It was brand new, totally repainted in white, with a new toilett and shower (in one place). But the furnitures are really minimalist. The room is tiny, just the place for a double bed, 2 lamps, and a kind of small wardrobe.
we planned to stay only one night during the week end, it was ok. But, even if the people is really gentle and give you all the advices you could need on the city, even if the hotel is very well located. I really consider, comparing with other hotels in Lyon, that it is too expensive for what you get. And I think that the real charm of an hotel is also, specially for a free private time, linked with the space and the dimensions of the room where you will sleep, but also where you would appreciate to rest between 2 excursions.
Not really the case here
