A colleague living in Lyon booked us into the Hotel du Parc. For only about 80 euro a night it was a good value for money. Room was typically French -- odd shaped, but with modern bathroom in-room. Very pleasant and efficient front desk staff, although their English wasn't the best at times. And our French of course much worse. The hotel is very secure in that a locked glass door at street level was opened by your pressing a button so that the staff let you in. Then you were in a small lobby and had to take an elevator to the 2nd floor where reception is. Secure, yes, a bit of a hassle too. Breakfast was fine but it was extra and more than I wanted to pay, with plenty of places along the street as alternatives. Overall a small place, about 3 floors with maybe 10 rooms per floor.
