“Reasonable Accommodation in Pricey Town”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 December 2011

A colleague living in Lyon booked us into the Hotel du Parc. For only about 80 euro a night it was a good value for money. Room was typically French -- odd shaped, but with modern bathroom in-room. Very pleasant and efficient front desk staff, although their English wasn't the best at times. And our French of course much worse. The hotel is very secure in that a locked glass door at street level was opened by your pressing a button so that the staff let you in. Then you were in a small lobby and had to take an elevator to the 2nd floor where reception is. Secure, yes, a bit of a hassle too. Breakfast was fine but it was extra and more than I wanted to pay, with plenty of places along the street as alternatives. Overall a small place, about 3 floors with maybe 10 rooms per floor.

“Friendly service, rotten room, great location!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 January 2010

I stayed here for three nights during the snows in France and the UK. It was unfortunate that I had what had to be the worst room in the hotel as it wasn't really walking around outside till late weather. Compensating the poor room was the friendly service, god shower and great location. I would stay again but made sure t see another room before I left. It was walkable to the old town and a 7 minute walk to the excellent shopping at Part Dieu. There are a couple of really good brasseries within a five minute walk L'Est and Brasserie des Brotteaux and I'm sure there are lots more on B'd Franklin Rossevelt.

“Cute Boutique Hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 May 2008

I stayed here during a recent visit to Lyon. You can walk to the Part-Dieu TGV station, which is where most of the major trains go to. The hotel is clean, comfortable, and had a very friendly staff. The main disappointment was the location. Situated in the Brotteaux section, you are going to have to catch the metro to get to the city centre and the old city (or take a ridiculously long walk). I suspect this hotel is more geared towards business travellers (or so it seemed), and for a leisure trip its just too inconvenient.

“Convenient for TGV”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 September 2007

A 10 minute walk from Part Dieu station and very close to one of the excellent Paul Bocuse bistros (L'Est) it's very much like a traditional Paris hotel, compact but very serviceable with affable staff and a good breakfast, if a little expensive. Good value for this part of town though the first time we stayed (via an SNCF website and a discount price) the room was not the best in the place. But that's what you expect if you cut their margins I suppose.

“A Gem!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 September 2007

I love this hotel. The staff is amazing! They are very helpful and kind. They will print out driving directions to anywhere you need to go and they give good recomendations for resturants. The rooms are clean and large for a European hotel. The decor was a rich red and gold. It is worth the extra 11 euros to park in their parking garage. The hotel is 12 min walk to the train station and 5 min walk the major city park. I have stayed in other hotels in Lyon and this is the only one I have and will return to!
