“good hotel but can be improved”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

The location of this hotel is graet , close to the train station Part Dieu and a star away from a shopping centre. The hotel is at the 32nd flor of a tall building and every room has a great view. The room is a decent size, but the furniture is dated, while the bathroom is nice. The breackfast is very good with a lot of choices. The wifi was for free and worked well. The price was a little expensive but in line with the french prices.

“Radisson blue, Lyon = need some freshing up”

It looks good from the outside and promising with the view but that's all. A very dated hoted that need to be redecorated and isolated.
The room as old , the carpet are filthy, the bed has a V shape which doesn't allow a couple to sleep nicely. The tiny TV is not even a flat screen!!!!
But the view is great!
The breakfast offers a large selection of choice but from a very bad quality. I would definitely not recommend this hotel at any cost.

“Very, very, very old!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

I stayed 4 nights for business in this hotel.
The rooms are very old, tv quality is really poor, the only nice thing is the view from the rooms.
The restaurant is also very good, service is perfect, the food is great but it's not cheap.
Very bad experience at the bar Arc-en-ciel: we finished work late and wanted a small thing to eat, they told us we could only get a mixed salad, we asked if we could order room service and eat it there, they said no so we ordered the salads. A group arrived 5 minutes later and could order sandwiches from room service. When I asked for explanations, the duty manager lied to us, saying they ordered earlier (we heard them order) so we had a big argument.
The service is poor and the rooms are not very clean. The rooms are old and with stains on the walls and other things like that. It's definitely not worth staying there...

Having Spent the week end at the Radisson Blu for my first time in Lyon, I must say that I was impressed, amazed by the friendiness and kindness of the team members, upon your arrival the conciergerie greats you really professionally, the front desk staff, the F&B team, all were so great and helpful during my stay, very friendly and professional, it's not common to find this level of service, yes some refurbishment are to be made, but they already working on that as I could notice at night time a repainting of the ceilings, I am confident that management are doing all they can to accommodate you! Rooms are clean, comfortable, the views are to die for!

“Helpful staff, dated hotel.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 January 2012

Our expectations were higher having recently stayed at the Radission Blu (Zurich Airport). The access to the hotel and a maze of 1 way streets, not helped by the TomTom not recognising its new name (hint, enter the old name of Radisson SAS if you have not updated European maps in the last 2 years).
The only positive thing about the location of this hotel is the shopping centre adjoining the hotel. The hotel is stuck in the 80's and in need of total refurbishment. The bed springs were felt in our spine at night resulting in a VERY poor night sleep and aching back for several days.
Extend your search in Lyon.
