Supposedly a decent hotel in a fairly expensive town, this place certainly doesn't live up to expectations. In a strange residential district near the finance centre, admittedly near the Gare Part-Dieu, which is a well-connected station.

The bad: it's 30•C+ and the air conditioning was announced as broken after I paid for the first night. My surprise was met with a wry smile, and the compensatory offer to drink as many free soft drinks as I wanted and a 40% chance of getting the €14 breakfast free on one day didn't really soften the blow.

The room: hot. No air. Noisy street. Rubbish cupboards. No ironing board. Very little natural light. Hot. Pathetic excuse for a desk. Fairly drab decor.

The good: good bathroom. Good shower pressure. Free wifi.

Avoid, at least until they fix the air-con. Ibis up the road is half the price and has cool rooms.

Staff were friendly, rooms were clean, location was pretty good.
Admitedly I got a good deal through 'Flybe.com' but I would have to say it was excellent value.
Breakfast was continental (Bread, Cheese, Jam etc)
My only critisism would be the shower was not fixed to the wall.
I would definatly recomend this hotel if you can get a good price.

I spent three nights in this Hotel on May this year. Frankly, I have nothing bad to say - the rooms were spacious (relativaly speaking - in French standarts), breakfest was very good, free wireless internet around the entire hotel, very good service from the receptionists (ordered me taxies, orderd me a seat at reasaurants, and generaly were always willing to help), clean bathroom. The only downside is that the single bed I slept in was not the most comfortable one I had ever slept in, but still I had a good night sleep every night. Good location (close to the city center and the big mall). I liked it.

Location for tourist attractions not good. Room poor. Arrived at hotel 2.00pm: told room would not be available until 5pm because we had only booked a room through airmiles and we were getting the cheapest! Yet the hotel was near enough empty judging by the lack of people seen during our stay. Hotel did agree to give a room immediately provided we paid for an upgrade ( which we did but in all fairness hotel did not charge when we checked out) Only one light worked in the upgraded room: when reception informed was handed a box of lightbulbs and told to sort it ourselves because receptionist (who seemed like and acted like throughout the stay a female basil fawlty) was on her own! When all lights sorted still very poorly lit room.On our last morning the hot water in the room was orange in colour! We are not normally complainants but on this occasion we were pushed too far.
We will not return!
