Like all Ibis this is simple and therefore less expensive - I say less expensive because it cannot be called cheap - I have stayed in better hotels for the same money. But, this is a dingey part of Lyon and we only stayed here because we needed to be near the station. The entrance to the hotel is hidden away in the corner between two restaurants look carefully for the signs. The room was as all Ibis hotels plain and small. The shower/wc was ok. The bed had a surmatelas - over mattress - and this was definately needed as the bed was still rock hard even with this.
On the down side -
There has been advertised a discount on the internet but when we arrived they knew nothing of this.
We stayed on a Saturday night and THE RESTAURANT WAS CLOSED (they say "exceptionally " but this could only happen in France!!).
The WiFi was tedious - complex codes to enter multiple times even though they said they were valid for 24 hours the REALITY was they were bandwidth limited and I needed several each day to use the Internet. And I don't download anything larger than podcasts (no films).
The shower room has two mangey towels - which I would class as hand towels.
The breakfast was ok but the coffee machines kept breaking down and the baguettes were rock hard and over cooked.
In balance stay here if you must but consider upgrading your stay to something a little more costly, but possibly better value.
