Perfect location if you need a stop over before getting back on train as it is walking distance to the Part Dieu train station and half hour walk (for fast walkers) to the old town.
Book at least a month in advance through their website for better deals. Specify you want a non smoking room. They have a policy to satisfy any query within 15 minutes if you have any issue whilst staying with them. So don't hesitate to tell them if something is not right.
Rooms are small but practical and clean. The staff was very helpful.
I wouldn't stay there for a special week end break but great place for a night stop over.
Note that we found it hard to find the place following the signs at the Part Dieu station. It is confusing as they send you through the shopping centre which is unpractical if you have a lot of suitcases. There is an easier way so plan in advance.

If you have stayed at Ibis Accor chain before, you know what to expect. The hotel is a bit far from the center of the city ( 20 minutes walk ), but it's pretty close to the train station, which is great. Rooms are small, but nice and clean. Breakfast is ok. Staff is very friendly and helpful, especially man at the desk-Samir, he speaks English pretty good, answered to all my questions. Good choice.

For a decent value and clean room in a hotel chain as well as relative close distance to the train station, Ibis Lyon La Part Dieu Centre Halles is an ideal choice.

The wardrobe could be bigger though.

This hotel is below the usual Ibis standard. It looks not very well maintained, breakfast was a disaster and can be considered as a waste of money. Try one of the alternative bakery's or cafe's just around the corner.
Won't come back to this hotel, unless it's the last option.
