“if you can manage to find it, a cheap place to stay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 May 2009

Although we found the place relatively easily (lucky guess), the best strategy is to park somewhere near Rue Moncey and walk to reception as its not easily seen from the streets. There is a car park underneath the premises. Double beds are not readily available for smaller rooms, this place is probably more suited to business travellers on short stop overs rather than tourists but we found it OK for a place to stay at short notice.

“Good stop over spot, close to Gare Part Dieu, but quiet”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 April 2009

Works well for a stay while travelling in the Provence area and on to Paris because it has a metro station nearby, a laundry facility in the hotel (dryers not long enough time) and a kitchenette to allow you some time to get off the fixed price restaurant menu. Not a great place if it is your first intro to France as it has little in the way of ambience, but overall and good location..not in the old town.

“Good Value”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 September 2007

Some of the other reviews of this hotel made us very nervous, especially the lack of staff after 22:00.
Fortunately everything worked well. We rang the day we planned to arrive and were given the codes and directions to find our room key.
The hotel is in a good position for exploring Lyon, not so far from the airport bus set down, a comfortable walk to the old part of town.
The room was well prepared, clean and well maintained.
Sure it was small when the bed was folded out but we were there to see Lyon and the rugby- not sit in a hotel room. We liked the small kitchen with its fridge and microwave.
The staff were polite and friendly with excellent English.
We would stay there again.
It might be useful if the process for checking in after 22:00 was prominently placed on the website. I only found out through tripAdvisor reviews.

“Reasonable value”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 April 2005

This is pretty basic accommodation. On arrival we were not too sure if we had made the right decision but, on balance, at the end we concluded that it was reasonable value.

A little out of the centre (and consequently cheaper than the central Citadines), but this does not really matter because of the excellent tram service. The appartments are not luxurous and indeed they could reasonably be described as a bit grubby. The pull out double bed is only just adequate. However our flat was reasonably spacious, a mezzanine floor in the appartment making it less claustrophobic, and the kitchen is adequate to cook a simple hot meal. The staff although somewhat elusive were very helpful when consulted about buses, places to eat on a Bank Holiday (not much open)

In short, fine if you intend to spend much of the time away from the appartment and are happy with 'student appartment' standard of accommodation at a price to match.

“A Nightmare!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 March 2005

We (family of 8) stayed in 2 apartments here last year. What a nightmare!
We decided on these apartments because there were so many of us travelling and we had 2 cars so we needed parking. On arrival after getting lost for an hour (the street is broken into 3 sections all going in different directions) we were told there were no parking spaces left and would have to park on the street however there is only 1 hour parking which is strictly enforced. We drove around for ages and finally found all day and night parking 3 kilometres away!
The "apartments" are tiny, dirty and smelly. The air-con when switched on has strong food odours, the carpet was stained and dirty and the balcony looked like it was going to fall off if anyone stood on it. My parents were in another apartment and when it was time for bed my mother pulled back the covers to find a blood stained sheet, there was no-one around to change the sheets so they had to sleep on top of the covers with a blanket over them. It was too late to look for another hotel but the following morning we left and found other accommodations.
