The Citadines hotel is right in the middle of all of the night life and a fabulous shopping area in the old section of Lyon. Near to the historic attractions and perfect to really enjoy the flavor of Lyon. We shared a two bedroom "apartment" with a small kitchenette. Everything was clean, but somewhat worn. The proximity to all of the open air restaurants may make for a noise problem, especially in the warmer months when you have to keep the windows open. There is no air conditioning.

It is the best geographical place to stay. Rooms are average, it can be noisy but the big problem is the lack of air coniditoning. Don't go in summer!!!! The rest is perfect.

Location is the plus.
During the hot day be prepared for a raw night. No A/C in the room...rowdy night brought me a memory of being in the Indian sweatlodge back in Canada.

Be aware: the pictures on their website can be misleading. I was part of a good-sized business group that stayed here last month, and the man that booked the rooms for us was as surprised as anyone to discover that the normal "studio" room does not have an actual bed in it, but a pull-out sofabed only! Apparently the pictures the guy booking the rooms saw were of the "one-bedroom suites", which have an actual bed in the bedroom. That, coupled with the fact that this place has no air conditioning and the weather was HOT made this the most uncomfortable hotel stay I've had in recent memory. The management, being French, naturally could not have cared less.
