Stayed at this hotel in October '07 thoroughly enjoyed it. Very centrally located close to Bus, train and tram stations (5 mins), the town centre was 10 mins walk away. Close to all ameneties and surrounded by various restaurants.

We booked and paid in advance which was cheaper and we used the additional funds to upgrade to Club room. Very large with seperate WC, bathroom shower/sink and very large bedroom with TV, table, mini bar, seating etc. Teamaking available in room (no milk however).

The Hotel itself was large (but not too large). Quiet enough at weekend which suited fine. Didn't have breakfast in hotel (expensive at €14), lots of options nearby.

Grenoble is a pleasant city with cable car to Bastille a must. Ideal for short break, not quite sure about longer.

I use to stay at Novotel everytime I go to Grenoble (once per month).

At the beginning I visited many other hotels in the area, until I incurred in this clean, modern, soft, hitech hotel (and not very expensive).

Staff is charmant and jolie!

The hotel was a basic average business hotel. Located on the other side of the train tracks (away from the town centre), the hotel was very utilitarian/functional. The rooms were large and clean though undescript. The stay was very functional.
Getting to the town centre is easy - either by foot (10 minutes) or by the convenient lightrail (tramway).

So while the location is not ideal (no cafes or restaurants right outside), it is do-able.

Above average novotel with nice modern restaurant and bar. We did not eat in the restaurant but on ordering aperitifs in the bar, hors d'oeuvres were placed down for us - a nice touch. Hotel staff helpful and location great. 5 minute walk to centre if you go under the station (hotel staff will explain how to do this).
