My arrival at the Mercure Grenoble Centre Alpotel was disappointing. I arrived late on a Sunday evening, was starving and very much looking forward to room service or at least dinner in the hotel restaurant. Neither was possible, as the kitchen was closed that day. The receptionist pointed me towards a restaurant in the area, but this one was also closed. This brings me to the location of the hotel: it is about a 20 mins walk from the city centre in a rather residential area. I started walking towards the city centre, but didn't feel too comfortable by myself in the dark. Despite the rooms being nice, I would choose something in the centre next time. The room was not very big, but comfortable. Wifi is included in the room price and worked quite well. I had breakfast in my room every morning. There is a standard and an organic option which I found nice. I chose the organic version which was very good. Overall, it is a nice hotel for a short stay, mainly for business, but I wouldn't necessarily recommend it for tourists.
