“Location is good but beware! not all apartments are nice”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

We stayed at Les Chalets du Forum for 7 nights, a big shock upon arrival was to notice that our room was extremely small versus our expectations. On web site it says 5/6 can sleep! yes but how? is it possible in one bed room apartment? Well you have to be ready to sleep 4 in one sofa bed and 2 in another one> share one toilet< and single bath room. Big disappointment of the size and cleanless of the apartments, should be ok for youngsters because of good location close to bars, centre of action of Courchevel, but not for people who expect little bit of descent comfort and cleanless. If you are lucky there is a chance you get larger apartments ! In summary that is what you get at that price levels at center of expensive courchevel 1850 , Value for price OK but ask for exact location and decription before booking, stay away from noisy side...

Room Tip: Choose 1st floor apartments , 2nd floor ceiling can be low, O level is noisy,

“Les Chalets du Forum, central, great views & a great sleep.”

Our party of 22 booked various apartments at Le Forum for 2 weeks and this worked out to be the best way to all stay together but not in each others pockets. Management had put most of our party on the same floor which meant the kids could visit in and out with ease. Week 31st Dec we stayed in apartment 213, Block B. This was cosy and comfortable for our party of 5 and because it was on the Valley side we had a lovely view. It had 2 small bedrooms, 2 bathrooms & a separate toilet upstairs, Downstairs, the kitchenette was small but absolutely functional, only missing a stove. We hired a nespresso machine for the week from management. The beds were extremely comfortable & we were provided with bathrobes which was a nice touch. The lounge had 2 sleeper couches & 2 chairs plus the dining table so we could entertain with ease. The boot room on the ground floor was spacious enough but could do with more seating space. Only a 2 minute walk to the Croisette which our small kids didn't mind at all. The advantage of staying in the Forum is that there are many places to eat at & evening activities for the kids such as ice-skating, bowling, obstacle course, rock climbing & bungee jumping right inside the shopping centre. Plus a launderette which is opposite a restaurant, easy to wash & dine at the same time. The second week we stayed in Block A, apt 104 (Powder White's Chalet Foxtrot) and this was bigger with 3 double bedrooms & 4 bathrooms. Also a lovely view but their cleaning staff were unreliable. I would definitely go back to these apartments, if possible book a bigger unit than you need for the extra space and next time I'll book direct with P&V. Of course, any ski holiday in 1850 is fantastic. We won't go anywhere else!

Room Tip: Choose a valley facing apartment

“Quality Apartments, Good Location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2009

I Stayed at the chalets du forum for 7 nights over new years eve dec '08. Me, my partner and another couple shared an apartment for 5 people. The fixtures, fittings and decor of our apartment was top quality. We had one bathroom, a seperate toilet, one bedroom and a large double fold away sofa bed in the lounge area. The Kitchen area was well finished with an oven, hobs, fridge, dishwasher and everything else needed for a self catering holiday. We also had a large balcony with a partial view of the slopes. There's a ski locker room on the bottom floor where one locker is allocated per apartment. This wasn't a probelem for us as the lockers are large enough and are also heated.

The only problems we had during our stay was a nasty smell in the corridors. There was a notice put up to say that they were working on the problem and within a couple of days it had gone. Another problem was that our safe wasn't working and wasn't fixed after two attempts by a maintainance man. But our safe deposit was refunded at the end of our stay.

The location is excellent. The apartments aren't ski in/ski out, but are only 50m walk to the main lift station in 1850. The accomodation is ajoined to a shopping complex that contains various ski/snowboard shops, an equipment rental shop, and a small super market. I would recommend using the supermarket to buy food and drink for your evening meals as courchevel 1850 is VERY expensive to eat out. If you are on a tight budget, this is not the resort to stay in as you won't be able to enjoy eating and drinking out.

Apart from how expensive everthing is at 1850, we had an excellent holiday. The three valleys is a massive ski area. We bought a three valleys pass but found that the best skiing and conditions were in the courchevel valleys and was probably enough terrain to keep us going for the week. There was a party on the piste with live DJ's and a massive fireworks display on new years eve which was well going out in the snow to see.

I would definately recommend the Chalets Du Forum for location and nice modern, well equipt self catering apartments.
