This is my fourth time back to stay at Chalet Juba. Nick and Joey are great hosts, very knowlegeable about the expansive ski areas that is The Three Valleys. Nick and Joey regularly go skiing most days and often take parties out skiing to share runs you wouldnt ordinarily take, Nick has the most up to date info on the pistes which have been bashed most recently, so you'll be guaranteed a great days skiing! My husband skiied the four valleys on New Year's day by 2.00pm!
In terms of the 3V ski network, La Tania links you to Courcheval and Meribel most easily. The network of piste runs that are available to you is immense, it would be hard to ski all of it in a week! Courcheval is ideal if like me you are a novice skiier, there are quite a few nice green, blue and red runs. Even some of the black's arn't that hard to ski down. Eating out at lunch time - be wary of some of the more expensive cafe's, look around or ask Nick and Joey which are the best ones.
The food at Chalet Juba is fabulous with a choice of porridge, boiled eggs, croissants and cereals for breakfast, tea and coffee and home made cake after a long day on the slopes, and a 3 course home made meal for supper - complete with a choice of red or white wine - there is no way you'll complain that there wasn't enough food at Chalet Juba. Nick & Joey's Tartifflette and chocolate bailies mousse - especially good!
The chalet is at the top of La Tania, over looking the town and there is a convenient ski path just above the chalet where you can ski down in the morning. This path situated at the end of a green run 'La Plan Fontaine' which very handily takes you past the chalet after your day on the slopes, or if you fancy a quick Vin Chaude in La Tania before you head back to the chalet, a button lift will take you directly past the chalet too!
The ski chalet is a modern fairly recently built chalet all rooms have en-suite baths or showers, heated towel rails and sufficient room to hang clothes. Some of the rooms have a balcony with superb views over looking the valley . The chalet also has a large lounge area heated by a log fire where you can sit and read your book at the end of a long day on the slopes, or chat with the other guests. There is also a boot room for storing skis and heating your boots for the next day.
All in all if you stay at Chalet Juba I can't under estimate how you will be guaranteed a fabulous and excellent ski trip.
