My husband and I recently spent a long weekend at the Hotel des Trois Vallees. We chose the hotel primarily for its location and were not disappointed. A 5 minute walk from the centre of 1850 plus direct access to the slopes. As we were only away for a couple of nights and it was all about the skiing, we opted not to stay at one of Courchevel's more expensive 5* resorts but were in no way disappointed with the choice we made.
The reception staff were incredibly helpful from the moment we arrived until our departure 4 days later. Many seemed to double as bar staff and while they may not have been familiar with some of the drinks we ordered they made every effort to ensure our needs were met. Additionally the nibbles that they brought out to accompany our drinks filled a hole nicely. I note that one of the average comments on the hotel complained about the wine not being chilled and the price. Our wine was chilled just fine but yet, the prices of the wine are on the high side but to be honest other than a few small select places, everywhere we went in Courchevel had ridiculously marked up wine prices.
Ben in the ski room was fantastic and very helpful. While we knew the hotel was ski in-ski out we were not expecting Ben and the service from him, it felt like we had our own personal ski concierge.
Breakfasts were bog standard European fayre with a good bread selection. We never ate other meals at the hotel so can't really comment though I found the breakfast area to be soulless so wouldn't choose to eat up their myself.
The rooms were very clean and there was always plenty of hot water. Our room was on the second floor and overlooked the front of the hotel. I could see the sun setting over the snowy mountains while soaking in the bath. It was lovely. The only annoyance was that the toilet was by the front door to the room while the bathrooms was through the room and on the other side so you always had to traipse through the room to wash your hands after using the loo. Hardly a real issue though.
We chose not to pay for the drinks (non alcoholic, water, coke etc) package that the hotel offers as, if I recall correctly, it worked out at €5 per drink and it's a fraction of the price at the supermarket in the Forum and you can still store them in your mini bar.
The bed appeared to be comfortable though neither my husband nor I had a complete night's sleep while there. We obviously can't say whether that was the bed or something weird going on with our own sleep patterns but for this reason I put that the sleep quality was average but this may be entirely irrelevant to anyone else.
I would definitely consider staying at the hotel again should I return for a similar trip to 1850.
