“Enjoyable long weekend”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

My husband and I recently spent a long weekend at the Hotel des Trois Vallees. We chose the hotel primarily for its location and were not disappointed. A 5 minute walk from the centre of 1850 plus direct access to the slopes. As we were only away for a couple of nights and it was all about the skiing, we opted not to stay at one of Courchevel's more expensive 5* resorts but were in no way disappointed with the choice we made.

The reception staff were incredibly helpful from the moment we arrived until our departure 4 days later. Many seemed to double as bar staff and while they may not have been familiar with some of the drinks we ordered they made every effort to ensure our needs were met. Additionally the nibbles that they brought out to accompany our drinks filled a hole nicely. I note that one of the average comments on the hotel complained about the wine not being chilled and the price. Our wine was chilled just fine but yet, the prices of the wine are on the high side but to be honest other than a few small select places, everywhere we went in Courchevel had ridiculously marked up wine prices.

Ben in the ski room was fantastic and very helpful. While we knew the hotel was ski in-ski out we were not expecting Ben and the service from him, it felt like we had our own personal ski concierge.

Breakfasts were bog standard European fayre with a good bread selection. We never ate other meals at the hotel so can't really comment though I found the breakfast area to be soulless so wouldn't choose to eat up their myself.

The rooms were very clean and there was always plenty of hot water. Our room was on the second floor and overlooked the front of the hotel. I could see the sun setting over the snowy mountains while soaking in the bath. It was lovely. The only annoyance was that the toilet was by the front door to the room while the bathrooms was through the room and on the other side so you always had to traipse through the room to wash your hands after using the loo. Hardly a real issue though.

We chose not to pay for the drinks (non alcoholic, water, coke etc) package that the hotel offers as, if I recall correctly, it worked out at €5 per drink and it's a fraction of the price at the supermarket in the Forum and you can still store them in your mini bar.

The bed appeared to be comfortable though neither my husband nor I had a complete night's sleep while there. We obviously can't say whether that was the bed or something weird going on with our own sleep patterns but for this reason I put that the sleep quality was average but this may be entirely irrelevant to anyone else.

I would definitely consider staying at the hotel again should I return for a similar trip to 1850.

“Unexpected luxury hospitality”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 January 2012

From the begining to find a hotel in Courchevel 1850 for 18 rooms (for friends and myself) was not easy task. Plus it should be close to Croisette plus ski-in/ski-out. Colleagues recommended me Des Trois Vallees saying that it's very good 4 star hotel. I had a lot of concerns as I was responsible for this vacation and normally we stay at 5 star deluxe hotels.

The hotel staff saved my vacation as non of our group had any complains. Each member of hotel team was clients oriented.
When we were trying to find a restaurant to celebrate Russian Christmas with our "gipsy-40-people" family the hotel offered us to organize the party at the hotel. Chef designed special 7 dishes menu for adults and children, the hotel manager found musicians and magician man. The price for the celebration was very resonable for Courchevel.

The person who surprised me was Ben -ski room manager. He provided us with real ski batler service - bringing the boots and placing the ski on slop. The ski equipment was new and professional. From the time you work in ski room Ben brings you boots and I don't know how remembers everybody in face.

Once again I would like to thank all employees that made our vacation unforgettable one.

“Attentive staff led by wonderful manager make this 4* hotel seem 5*”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2012

This 4* hotel seemed in all the ways that matter, to be 5* to us. The friendly and very 'hands on' manager led a wonderful team with panache and charm. He also sang brilliantly at the Christmas Eve gala dinner. I should mention Isabelle on the front desk who was so kind when my husband was taken ill, ringing the local doctor and hospital for me at regular intervals and offering soothing cups of tea which was of excellent quality. The turn-down service was charming always leaving us with a tempting home-made treat for bed-time. We thoroughly enjoyed the family atmosphere of the Gala dinner where the chef surpassed himself. Our family struggled with the 8 courses and tried to miss one out but the elegant head waitress begged us not to, as the chef 'cooks with his heart'. My fussy daughters voted the breakfast buffet as the best ever with something for everyone. Freshly squeezed orange juice was a 5* touch. The ski room professional in the hotel was amazing with such attention to detail, bringing our boots as soon as we appeared and placing skis all ready on the slope outside the ski room. There is no point going anywhere else for equipment hire with an expert like this in house. We would definitely return here.

Room Tip: Make sure your room has a balcony facing the piste, the view is amazing. I sat in the cosy arm chair...

“fantastic stay - a definitely go back”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 January 2012

We just returned from our x-mas week and i feel obliged to right down a 5 stars recommendation for this hotel. why 5* and not less:
1) Excellent location - 2min walk from Forum Center, ski in/out 100%
2) Amazing personnel - ready to assist you at any time with a smile - excellent, very warm & polite, friendly manager
3) Nice family room well serviced
4)shuttle service when requested
5) Fantastic ski room (i rented all equipment for my kids & skis for me) with all brand new assecories needed (helmets, etc.) - and a fantastic guy running it, ready to assist you, preparing your skis and boots without saying anything to him (the first day i was looking for my skis, they were out on the slope waiting for me to ride them...) assisting you upon return, always assisting the kids to gear up
6) Excellent food
7) I didnt try but my wife told me that massage was perfect
definitely next time i will stay again there - G. Chryssikos

“An excellent luxury place with personalized services in a friendly atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 March 2011

All the personnel is dedicated to make of your stay the best experience ever. A long list of amazing services: the front desk with the concierge service being a must, parking your car, ready to help for any matter (had even suggested to go and get jewelry for my wife for Valentine's day); the terrific ski specialist directly located in the hotel giving more time than you would expect anywhere else, commuting between the hotel and the shop to get you the exact equipment, preparing all ski equipment before you get there; the personnel at the bar and restaurant deliberately ignoring pre-defined open hours to let you enjoy your experience (the menu is amazingly surprising with a mix of culture in each dish, making dinner tasteful and delicious); the masseuse at the Spa is excellent and does know how to make you feel relaxed and forget about everything; the personnel making the rooms also being very considerate, folding your pjs and placing kids safety blankets properly under the pilow...
The location is also excellent, directly on the slopes on one side, and few minutes walk from the shoping center Le Forum and all other restaurants.
Only area to enhance would be to better equip the gym room... Not that much to do there if you'd like to tone up after a full day of ski.
