Arrived early unable to check in until 3, not a problems as could leave bags and went out for lunch anyway. On entering room we were greeted with 2 single beds pushed together, when paying for a superior double, 2 single beds are just not the same! Unable to turn down radiator in the bathroom which made it hotter than a sauna and quite unbearable at times! There were also no tea/coffee making facilities in the room. This aside the room was spacious with a large closet, and a balcony with a great view of the mountains.
Breakfast was impressive with a wide range of cereals, pastries, bacon, eggs, fruit, and yoghurts, although on several occasions they ran out completely of pastries, despite there being a bakery next door which you would think they would use as a last resort!
The evening meals were good on a whole, the food was all very tasty but by day 3-4 the menu became very repetitive - with the same salads to start, a soup of the day, and very similar desserts. They seemed to change 1 main course each night but it could have done with changing a bit more regularly. One of our party had 5 sirloin steaks in 7 days, despite not being a fussy eater!
The beer and spirits and any sort of coffee in the evenings are all very expensive so we tended to share a bottle of wine with dinner which worked out far better value for money.
The spa was a great bonus for the end of a days skiing, with a lovely warm outdoor pool with great views of the mountains, saunas, and a steamroom. We used this most days and it was never over-crowded.
We would not let any of the niggles put us off going back though, the hotel was in a fantastic location with the ski bus picking up every 10 minutes from only 50 metres away.
We had a great waiter, Alan for the first half of the trip who unfortunately left part way through our trip. Good value for money and a very comfortable hotel.
