“brilliant!!”

This was our third visit to this campsite and it was better than ever. The site could not be cleaner. The log cabins which are rented out are perfect. We used the shower block which is cleaned thoroughly every morning. There are visiting food sellers, pizza on monday, rotisserie chicken on wednesday and a giant tartiflette man on thursday. Food in the cafe is cheap but basic, chips are great though!! There are supermarkets nearby, Champion in St Jorioz and Faverges and a Super U. Auchan is about 25 minutes depending on lakeside traffic. You can order croissants and bread for breakfast which are lovely but a little expensive so we just went to Champion and got ours. There is lots to do in this area, lots of beaches around the lake. We like the beach at Talloires, it has a slide, diving board, roped off swimming area, table tennis and volley ball, cafe and toilets, you can see it on the talloires webcam. St Jorioz beach is nice with three diving boards, cafe and toilets. Both these beaches charge a small entry fee but it is well worth it. La Sambuy is worth a visit for the luge and chairlift to the top of the mountain. Gorges du Fier is cheap and interesting, Walibi is about an hour away and is a little theme park with water park expensive but fun. Just out of the campsite on the Albertville road you can pick up the Route des Montagnes, this is a road through the mountains, It is beautiful, we take a picnic and spend the day driving through the mountains stopping to do walks, look at wildlife and catch crickets! In Thones is the Aravis adventure park, this is brilliant its like Go Ape here but much cheaper. You have a safety talk and then are free to spend the whole day up in the trees doing various activities, each run is colour coded blue being the easiet black being the hardest, red and black run end with a zip wire over the Fier river. Was about £12 a person. Just out of the campsite you can pick up the boat to Annecy, this takes an hour but is beautiful and cost fourteen euros return, We went to Geneva but did not like it so drove to Chamonix. Chamonix is beautiful but so expensive!! £6 for a coke and £10 for six slices of garlic bread with our meal - this was offered as house garlic bread, we spent £153 lunch - one drink each and one meal each for seven of us.

The campsite is clean, quiet and friendly. The pool and waterslide are great. Book direct with the owners through their website it is much cheaper that way, the cabins get booked up very quickly so you have to be early. Will definitely go back.

we stayed in a eurocamp tent or 7 nights in auust with 4 children. the site was lovely nice and quiet , the waterslide and pool was a big hit with the children. The facilities were always clean. My only complaint would be the shop it was only open for a couple of hours in the mornings and was very llimited, takeaway food mnot up to much although the travelling rottiserrie , pizza and tarteflette were all very good. overall a very nice campsite would recommend to others

“Great stay get booking now!”

Superb campsite as previously stated by another reviewer the only thing I would say that the drive is not 15 miles from the campsite more like 5 miles away and takes about 15 minutes with beautiful lakeside views the majority of the way, parking was also a breeze compared to most other cities and towns!!

I think the best Boulangerie in the world is in Veyrier Du Lac well worth a trip the other side of the lake just about 20 mins away and this side of the lake obtains the most sunshine and see great views!!

Enjoy!! And get booking you won't be disappointed!!

“Super location for peace and quiet, or big adventure!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 January 2007

Camping La Ravoire is a small campsite at the southern end of Lake Annecy. The site is very well kept- the facilities were always spotless, and pitches very well kept

The swimming pool area has an average sized pool, with a small splash pool for kids, and a separate pool for the waterchute. In high season, there were night time "toboggan" nights, which were great fun for all the younger people onsite!!! The area around the pool is very sunny, with lots of sunloungers

Although the site bar has a small restaurant, it only serves chips/ pizza/ hot dogs. It does have a great range of delicious ice creams though!!!

The site is very quiet at night, so ideal for people wanting a relaxing holiday. As it is so small, it's also nice and friendly- especially when going to pick up your freshly ordered bread in the morning!

The site is about 2km from the nearest beach, and about the same distance to a decent sized village with bank, shops, bars, restaurants etc... Getting to the town of Annecy is a long journey by car however- it's only about 15miles, but the traffic is incredibly busy in high season. The best way of getting there is by the boat-taxi service, which costs about 12euros for a round trip... but you can get off at any of the stops around the lake and hop back on when you want to go back! Another way of getting there would be to hire a bike and go the whole way along the bike track. Its 12.5km to annecy from the site, but it's a great way to get there, as the track is completely off road, very flat and has fantastic views the whole way to annecy. I have never enjoyed cycling so much, and although it usually took about an hour to reach annecy, the journey was in itself a fantastic part of the trip

There are loads of activites on offer around the lake and in the local area- paragliding is one of the biggest attractions for people wanting to do a bit of extreme sports!!! There are lots of companies offering it, i paid 80euros for mine, which included photos to take home at the end. The tandem flight lasts 20-30mins and you fly over the mountains and lake before landing. The views are stunning and it was a truly fantastic experience. Other activities offered included white water rafting, water skiing, wakeboarding, canoeing, downhill mountain biking, canyoning...

The site is close enough to be able to go to Geneva or Mont Blanc for a day out, but there are other great places nearby too. La Sambuy at seythenex- about 40mins drive from the site, has a cable car up to the top of the mountain, where you get views of both lake annecy and mont blanc. you can also take a summer luge down the mountain side which is great fun!!!

basically, this is a perfect site for people wanting a holiday with loads of activities and adventure on offer in the surrounding area, but can come back in the evening for a peaceful night. great for families with small kids too because the site is so well kept, and the pool area is ideal for children. i had a fantastic time on la ravoire, it really is a little gem!

  • Liked — sunny, well kept, good sizes
  • Tips/Secrets — mondays in high season- la tour de pizza comes to the site in the evening- delicious freshly made pizzas!!!!
