As part of our trip to Geneva, we decided to take a detour and ended up in Annecy. Being a weekend and without reservation, we were lucky to secure a 2-night stay at Hotel Du Chateau, albeit we had to change rooms.

I have to say that our room #14, on the 2nd floor facing the castle, was bland. With the rain and darkness on our arrival, I thought I had made a mistake staying here. The bed was comfortable (but small for 2 people ) and we had our own bathroom. In the morning, we moved to room #24, on the 3rd floor. I loved this room. While the shower and toilet was located directly across from the room, it was for our use only and locked with the same key as our room. The view and feel of the room was great...BTW...the sink is in the room itself. The hotel cats came by to visit...we left the door open to our room while we were in the room..they were very friendly, oh ... and you can chill your beer outside the window, on a roof ledge ;)

This property is suitable for those who do not require a lot of flair or fussiness to their rooms, as they are simple yet comfortable and QUIET. No clock church bells keeping you up at night.

Nice hotel located on the highest hill in Annecy, next to the Chateau with great views. The room was small but very comfortable.
At the bottom of the hill is the main town center with great shops, bars and restaurants.
Driving-follow directions to the Chateau, drive past front entrance and bear right to hotel, limited free parking.
A large Merc estate was unloading when I arrived, blocking access to the last small space for my car. The owner/manager took my keys and parked it for me later, while I went off sightseeing.

This was an excellent place for us in the old section of the truly gorgeous Annecy. The hotelnis up a hill, so if you have trouble with knees it could be difficult. But we liked it a lot. There's the option to take your breakfast on an outdoor terrace looking out on the city. The room was good - roomy and nice. We particularly liked the people who worked there - very friendly and helpful.
