“Great Location, No Frills Hotel”

After reading the reviews we had booked a Double Bed Room (Studio) for 2 nights for 73 Euros/night during April'11. The hotel is very close to the railway station and we safely walked it up to the hotel late at night (~11.40 pm). In advance, we were provided with the code number of the lock at the entrance gate and the room keys were left at the reception. While the neighbourhood is safe, I would feel comfortable if there were a security guard/receptionist 24x7. The staff no doubt is good and efficient.
There are mixed reviews about the rooms because I guess some of the rooms are highly compact, since we were there only for 2 nights we some how managed. Well equipped kitchenette which is helpful. The beds are very high ?. The linen was absolutely clean.
Walkable distance to most of the places - lake, railway station, old town. Plenty of cafe, restaurants, shops nearby.
Theres nothing much to write about the hotel as its a no frill hotel and we choose it only because of its location.
Must Do - If you have a day to spare do go to Chamonix from where you can go to Mont Blanc.

Room Tip: Studios are very compact and ok for short stays (1 or 2 night) only.

“Lovely stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 September 2011

Great location, only a short stroll to all the resaurants. Lovely 1 bed apartment with all the faciklities. It is a self catering apartment and you dont have daily towel change, but what do you expect! Very modern decor, and a little kitchenette. The bathroom and shower lovely too. The fold out sofa bed in the livingroom is also very comfortable too.
Parking is very difficult and expensive to get in annecy, if you have a car, so dont forget to book parking in the Privilodges car park for €7 per day before you arrive.
Great place and the staff are very friendly and helpful too!

“Perfect location and comfortable for family of 4”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 September 2011

This hotel is easy walking distance from the lake, the Old City, and many cafes. The room was clean and comfortable, with the only inconvenience being no tissues (not an oversight for our room--they don't provide them). It was wonderful to have a living room with chairs after five days in more cramped lodgings in Paris. We had our own bedroom (just enough room for the bed, but the bed was large), and our kids had a pullout couch in the living room. There's also a kitchenette. We made use of the fridge and some of the plates/cups provided. Since our stay was only three days, we did get daily towel changing and garbage removal at no extra charge, but if you're staying longer I know that does cost extra. There is one washer/dryer off the breakfast room, though I found it rather expensive (5 euros for one wash and one dry). Our only real complaint was that the free wi-fi didn't work well. I had a lot of trouble with my iPod touch in France, but even my husband had trouble here using a laptop that he was able to use in Paris. Breakfast was nothing great, but cheap enough. The person who complained about the staff not being around between 12 and 2 and not after 8pm or so is correct, but it didn't bother us so much because we didn't use them for dinner referrals, and we were used to everyone in France taking a siesta around the noon hour. As for no bedside lights, yes, I remember finding that surprising, but it didn't bother us.

Room Tip: Plan your arrival before noon or after two so someone will be at the front desk. We were on the firs...

“Excellent location, apartments basic”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 September 2011

Location is v gd. A few minutes walk from the center but away from all the hustle & bustle. The service was (check-in etc) was all very efficient & the front desk was more than happy to help.

The apartments are fairly basic though so wouldnt expect too much. Not worth taking the breakfast option, better to just step outside (plenty of shops) & much cheaper. Tiny gym but nice communal verandah. Overall would say gd value & would prob book again if we were there.

(fyi if you're using taxis, be careful of Access Taxis. We had a confirmed booking but they didnt show & no response to calls to their mobile etc)

“Great Location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 August 2011

Stayed here for a week in July with two teenagers. The apartment (one bedroomed) was clean and adequately equipped although it was very small. As we only used it as a base this was not a problem. We had a small balcony which was good but it would have been nice to have had a little table and a couple of chairs on it to enjoy the sunshine. There was a great selection of shops and restaurants nearby. The staff were very helpful and it was good to have the computer in the foyer, the gym and wi-fi. There is also a washing machine and tumble dryer which residents can pay to use. We also paid for car parking which was useful as parking on the streets can be limited. We loved Annecy and we would return to these apartments despite being small

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a balcony. There are not many.
