“Very nice setting and location, friendly staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

We travelled to Annecy to enjoy its nice combination of historical setting, little lovely shops and natural surroundings. This 3 stars hotel is a great place to be at the core of all of it. At a walking distance from all that matters and very confortable. If your budget allows you, book a premium room and enjoy spectacular views of the cannal and the mountains. Room 202 has a nice balcony and renewed bathroom. Room is somewhat small (like many areas of the hotel) but enough. Hotel staff is really friendly and recommended an excellent restaurant at a 2 min walk (L'Alpin).

Room Tip: Premium room 202 has a nice balcony and the better views.

“Loved the location, liked the hotel.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 January 2012

Stayed here back in July of 2011. The hotel is in the perfect spot, right in the center of the old town, and two minutes from the canal, lake, and countless restaurants, bars, and shops. That said, the room itself was kind of bland. I've never been one to hang around the hotel while on vacation, so this wasn't much of an issue. We had an issue with our room TV, and left our room key at the desk while we went to dinner. When we got back, the problem was fixed, which was nice. The biggest problem was that they only honor parking at one garage in town, which is not the closest. Instead, we parked in the close garage, which ended up costing us $50 or so. All in all, the stay was comfortable, but not especially so. However, the convenience of the location more than made up for any shortcomings the facilities suffered from. I'd consider staying here again, but would look at other options first.

Room Tip: Make sure to get a room with a canal view. Our's didn't have one, and while the view of the...

“Lovely hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2012

We spent three nights in Annecy at this hotel and loved it. All staff at the tiny reception were helpful and friendly. They assisted us with parking, restaurants and tickets. This hotel is perfectly situated in old Annecy with beautiful views of the canals. We were able to walk to the restaurants and to the boat cruise on the lake.

This town is beautiful and the hotel made our stay even more special. The rooms are clean, well appointed if a little small. We ate breakfast at the cafe downstairs who serve great coffee and breakfast from early.

Hotel has a lift, parking close by and lake and canal views. I would stay here again.

“What a great place!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 November 2011

This hotel is in a great location in a great place to vacation! The hotel is about a leisure 15 minute walk away from the train station through a great part of town. The lobby is tiny, but they were able to keep our bags and take them to our room since it was not ready when we arrived. We stayed in room 201 with a nice view of the canal. The room was large enough for a double bed, a minibar with a flat screen TV on top of it, and a small table with 2 chairs. The bathroom was modern and clean. The hotel is retrofitted into very old buildings, so people in wheelchairs or with other mobility issues might have difficulty getting around inside the hotel.

“Perfectly situated in the heart of Annecy”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 October 2011

Living in nearby Switzerland, we have come to Annecy on several occasion for a romantic weekend. Annecy is a beautiful city with its canal and small streets, artisan and coffee shops, great restaurants, and especially the big market on Sunday morning.
The Hotel du Palais de l'Isle is perfectly located at the heart of the old part of Annecy, at the beginning of the pedestrian street in the medieval city. The hotel is a maze as it was built within a couple of houses, and hence you walk in long corridors to get to your room. You get the feeling to be in an old castle :-)
The rooms are simple and small as would be expected in old houses, but very comfortable, cosy and clean! We have stayed twice (November 2008 and March 2011) at the Hotel du Palais de l'Isle, stayed in different rooms, and we can recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Annecy and wishing to stay at the heart of this beautiful town.
