We stayed here with a Page and Moy/Travelsphere group for 4 nights. The hotel staff were very helpful and although the room was small, it was clean and sufficient for our stay. We particularly appreciated the tea/coffee making facilities, although lack of a minibar was noticable.
Breakfast was buffet style with plenty of choice and was constantly topped up. It wasn't the best breakfast I'd ever had, but it far surpassed many I've experienced in France.
My biggest problem with the hotel was its location. It was a good 10 minutes walk to the centre of town- but that's only if you're fit and healthy. It is also in a very seedy, run down, tatty looking area.
We weren't happy walking around at night, and our tour guide had told us to avoid the canal "shortcut" into Annecy. Skate boarders seemed to favour the concreted area outside the hotel and practiced constantly whilst we were there.
We loved Annecy and want to go back, but we wouldn't choose La Mandallaz.
