“Wonderful location”

Stayed at this hotel for 2 nights and was quite happy with the room. Marvellous view from the window of the harbour. Bed was ok and the bathroom was really quite spectacular! Little noisy at night...I suggest you buy some ear plugs. Probably the best investment i made whilst travelling. Ensures a good nights sleep no matter what! Restaurants all around with plenty of choice. Walking distance to shops etc. Breakfast was fine...more than enough to eat and plenty of variety. Only problem I found was having to carry the bag up to the reception, then up again another flight of steps to the lift.

“Ideally located but not for the lame!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 April 2009

This hotel is in the perfect location for visiting Marseille on holiday. Its upstairs with a lift only from 2nd level upwards. Rooms facing the courtyard are poky and claustrophobic; those facing the harbour have a wonderful view. Traffic noise is an issue because air-conditioning is not functional before summer, so opening the window is necessary on warmer days. Friendly and clean and very affordable. Loads of restaurants and bars very nearby; as are boat trips, markets and public transport.

“Nice location, shame about the hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 February 2009

I don't understand why this hotel has such great reviews, it was fairly expensive compared to many 2 star hotels Ive stayed in during my holidays. Its location was of course superb, when I arrived and for the days I was staying there it was getting a make over, so painters everywhere. It would be normal procedure to offer guests a bit of advance warning of this or at least offer a little discount or free breakfast or something given the commotion going on in the hotel.

The room was dingy and fairly small, although clean. It did have a lovely bathroom, very modern and clean, together with the flat screen tv this was the only highlight of the hotel for me. Reception was helpful, but not always present...

“Perfect base to explore the city.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 February 2009

Fab place, had all the mod cons you'd expect but not expensive. Perfect location, overlooking the harbour and close to restaurants, cafes and tourist attractions. Didn't eat there, but didn't need to as soooo many choices locally for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It was very clean, friendly staff and you could easily come and go as you please.

  • Liked — Location and cleanliness
  • Disliked — Twin beds pushed together to make a double.

“Good with some reserves”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 February 2009

We stayed here 1 day. 101 EUROS / day for 2 adults and 1 child (12 years old).

Reception friendly.
No major problem with bathroom.
In front of the View Port.
We did not have breakfast in hotel (8 EUROS/ pers/day).
Shops, restaurants and bars near.

No parking. You need to use the Public Parc (9 Euros / 24 h).
Small elevator and you have to use stairs to get to the reception desk and elevator.
We forgot to ask and our room had tabaco smell! Also we pay a little more to have the view of the port. Its okay but there were a grid iron in our window.

I would recomend it only because of the location but certanly there are better options.
Not recomended if you cannot use stairs to get the 1st floor, Reception Desk.
