The Holiday Inn in Marseille is a perfectly decent hotel, probably at the upper end of what you'd expect from a Holiday Inn. The main drawback is its location on a noisy non-descript avenue a good 10-15 minute walk from the sea front. The hotel itself is modern, comfortable and functional. Some people in our group complained about the state of their bathrooms, but mine was fine. The staff were friendly and the breakfast spread pretty good. For France, I'd say the rooms are quite large. Again, this is not a charming hide-away: it's a convenient hotel, but very well run for what it is. There's what they call a mini-gym, which sums it up pretty well - enough machines to burn up some energy, but not for a real workout. There's a bar and restaurant, but I never used them. If your goal is tourism, I'd look for something near the old port, though that part of town can get a bit seedy at night whereas the area around the hotel is very quiet.

has a minibar with complementary bottle of water for the first night.before used to be minibar refreshed daily and was free.
the breakfast is a good one and deserves all the attention to start your day with "full power"
the internet is 8euros for 24hours and is good,high speed.
there is a mini gym where you can stay all the day long,and nobody will bother you,water and towels are there,fresh.
everyday ,in front of the hotel,from 8am till 1pm, is a market with cheap clothing ,cosmetics and ,also,vegetables and fruits.
over all,is a good business hotel.will always come back to holiday inn avenue du prado

Very Good hotel, Clean rooms good facilities. Wonderful breakfast. Right at the city centre but unfortunately we learnt that the best place to be in Marseille is near the Port. That is where the best restaurants, nightlife and views are!

Close to metro (easily connecting to rest of the city). Close to the Stade Velodrome (great for a football experience at a breathtaking stadium). Close to the city centre (about 10 mins walk from great shopping posibilities). Every weekday except sundays, there is a long cozy local shopping market beginning at the hotel front door. The hotel amenities were just everything you could expect from a 4-star hotel level. Stayed at a big double bed room at the third floor. Very nice beds, and although the windows were fronted at the very trafical Avenue du Prado, the thick windows closed out all motor noise. Only minus about the location were the nearby hospitals, which made you hear the ambulance and police car sirens very often (just a big city thing). The minibar at our room didn't work, and the service desk wasn't very helpful. But asking about city travelling they were outstanding. Breakfast had a standard variety from eggs, bacon and sausages to whie bread, yoghurt and fruit. In all a very, very pleasant stay. I couldn't ask for much more.
