We stayed in this hotel, and it was the worst hotel of a 7 week trip. Receptions staff were absolutely great and very helpful, but thats was it.On the second night there, just outside the glass doors, right in front of the reception, which had a security guard inside, I was attacked by someone trying to snatch my handbag. This was 10 at night not as if I was coming home at some early hour of the morning. It is in a really unsafe part of town at night, not so bad through the day. The hotel was run down and really grotty. There was a sign in the room not to leave windows open, and dont leave valuables in the room when out ....... BUT there was no room safe! Just dont go there!

Looking for a cheap bed for 4 nights close to the station and the town centre and found it here.

Yes it does border a rather seedy area but the subway outside the door will get you anywhere quickly and it is only a few minutes walk to the town centre. I took the cheapest "studio" room, with sofa bed. All the facilities for self catering with kitchenette, bathroom (with bath) and separate toilet, but very cramped once the sofa bed was opened - comfortable bed though. Relatively clean but aging.

Wi-fi in the lobby is a pain, but worked okay.

I cant believe this place has such good reviews on Tripadvisor. I really have to say, I was not impressed at all.

Firstly, the location ... its in a pretty run down part of Marseille and I didnt really feel too safe in the evening. OK during the day though ... just watch for the pickpockets! However, you only have a to walk 5mins and things do get better as you hit te main touristy part of Marseille which is better.

The hotel itself had really helpful and friendly staff but thats as far as it goes. The appartment we had was dated and not clean. Stained old carpets were a major annoyance. The room had a decent TV and hifi and the kitchenette area was clean.

Room access is by a punched card type thing which I feel is not safe as its just too easy to copy.

Free internet ... wifi in the lobby ... that it. In the rooms, there is wired internet ... how 2004 is that??

Overall, its put me off Citadines hotels completely. I shant be coming back. Glad I only stayed 1 night as I dont think I could have stayed any more.

The hotel is very good, It's highly recommended for Marseille. The metro station is just outside the hotel.
The neighbourhood and the centre of Marseilles should be avoided. You can't image something like this until you see it with your eyes. Its a big Ghetto ! The worst neighbourhoods in Bucharest can't compare with centre Marseilles.

There is no problem with the access if you come late. There is no room service, but this is the concept.

There is free wired Internet available.
