We decided to go to Provence for a relaxing holiday in France. The hotel is located in Les Imberts which is about 3km from Gordes so hiring a car is necessary, it really isnt near enough to walk. Les Imberts hasnt got much in it as it's a residential area. The hotel has a restaurant (L'Estellan) which we never tried but looks nice. Gordes has a few fantastic restaurants (Domaine de L'enclos de Gustav - amazing!), and one that i would avoid like the plague (L'Artegal). The market in Gordes on a tuesday morning is also worth a visit. Rousillon, a little town nearby is beautiful too.
The hotel is nice and the pool and garden area are beautiful. They are exactly as shown on the website. We had a private garden/terrace which was great.
We are not a fussy couple. The room was fine - small, but it had everything that we needed in it. The only problem was that I have an allergy to cats and the previous occupant had obviously had one in the room as there were cat hairs on the duvets and my allergy acted up, but this improved as the week went on.
We paid €1000 for the hotel for a week, which we thought was expensive for September at the time, but the photos and the location seemed perfect. Looking back now, it wasn't very good value..the price didn't include breakfast which we knew before we went. (Breakfast cost €12 per person per day but i heard some guests commenting that it wasnt worth it...) The staff did their jobs but nothing more, they were reluctantly helpful and gave the impression that they didnt like to be disturbed. My boyfriend was extremely sick during our stay and I found the staff to be very unsympathetic, indifferent and cold. We have stayed in hotels which cost alot less and have left with a better impression.
Overall, I would recommend this hotel for a short stay if only for the setting and the location, but i certainly would not pay over the odds for it.
