I stayed here whilst buying a house in Tourrettes sur Loup nearby, a number of years ago. Now I visit the restaurant regularly - the chef here, Jerome,actually cares about his food, and produces interesting dishes such as the Ravioli of Langoustine €19, a Bouillabaise of Lot served under a crust €27, and a delicious Souffle Framboise €12.00.

Whilst being slightly more expensive than the mundane restaurants in the old city, there is such a difference in ambiance and quality of food that the extra cost is worthwhile. Sit in the shaded garden adjacent to the pool (quiet).

Wine is much the same price as the rest with the Jolivet "Attitude" Sauvignon being good value at €28. No offering of inferior Provence wines at inflated prices, which demonstrates sound judgement. The staff are friendly and helpful

We have just returned from a highly enjoyable stay at this hotel. For me, the mark of a good hotel is the ease of check-in and a discreet, yet efficient service. this hotel met all these criteria.

I liked the fact that this hotel is slightly outside the village of Vence, a short walking distance. I had finished a busy week of meetings at Opio Club Med and was desiring something smaller and more initimate for the weekend. Dinner the first night was very nice at the outdoor patio of the restaurant, very attentive service but easy. The server helped me pick a wine I liked. And the food was very good, that evening a menu of fish, lobster, mussels, oysters, etc. I choose the duplex room which by my prior French experiences was very large. The decor is of the area, somewhat comtemporary with splashes of color and simple furnishings. Updated, well maintained and clean. Lots of outdoor patio time including the lovely pool area. The views and surrounding grounds are beautiful and well maintained. Twice I asked the bar to serve a drink while I enjoyed my personal patio, the drink was delivered within 5 minutes with a nice side snack. Individuals at the front desk were friendly and very helpful.

We just loved this hotel it was so romantic. Our room had a mezzanine floor bedroom and a sitting room on the ground floor with a comfy sofa and a big bay window that opened onto a small private terrace. There was also a fridge in the room so we where able to keep a bottle (or 2) of white wine in there that we had bought in Vence for 5 €. We organised our own private romantic aperitifs on the terrace and enjoyed the beautiful sceneries – just magical. We had one evening meal at the hotel restaurant which was very pleasant, it was a three course menu with a chose from 3 starters, 3 mains and 3 deserts for 45€. Admittedly this is pricy compared to the other local restaurants in Vence where you can get a 3 course meal for 25€, but I thought the food was really very good and well worth the higher price.
We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights but we would have quite happily stayed an other 3. I felt so relaxed by the end of our stay and was very upset to leave the indoor swimming pool and steam room behind. I will be looking out for a 6 for the price of 3 deal for next year, I wish!!!

But it is worth checking there website first for promotions, we only find out afterwards that there was a 5 for 4 deal which could have been tempting if a I had known in advance. http://www.cantemerle-hotel-vence.com
