“Elegant villa - great hosts”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

Have just received a New Year greeting card from them and suddenly realised that haven't written the review on TA yet!

Well, first of all the hosts: when you look at Alison and Peter you just can't believe they are real. So incredibly friendly, happy and welcoming they are. They will always help you with a piece of advice on where to dine or what place to visit. And of course you always get a smile from Alison and some jokes from Peter. They are both simply great hosts!

Then - the villa. It is very elegant, thoroughly planned and decorated with taste. The two most wonderful things were deep swimmimg pool and fresh flowers in the hall that gave incredible aroma every time you entered the house. The parking is spacious enough and is on the very territory of the property so you may be sure that your car will be safe.

Ignore the fact that it seems to stand on a big road - the property is surrounded by a solid wall and is on a lower level of the ground than the road so you can hear absolutely no noise from it. As for the noise inside - well if you are lucky enough to have well-manered neighbours there will be no problem at all; if you are as unlucky as we were to have those who considered themselves as "special guests" it may disturb you.

They serve fantastic breakfast - not only croissants with confiture as in many other places in France - you may choose whatever you want from the additional menu. Also mind that you will be sitting at your separate table and be served personally. That is very important when you stay in a B&B!

Our room was spacious enough and full of light. It was cleaned every morning and we were very happy about it. The only drawback was the shower - it had no door or curtain that's why we enevitably had some water on the floor.

The gorgeous Pampelonne beach is within a walking distance from the Pavillion. You will need a car to get to the nearby St. Tropez, Ramatuelle or Gassin but it will be a rather short drive.

All-in-all we were quite happy staying with Alison and Peter and wish them and their B&B further prosperity.

“A lovely stay in a beautiful place with wonderful hosts!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

This is a long overdue review as I have been meaning to write it since we stayed at Pavillon de Pampelonne last April. The owners, a lovely British couple, Alison and Peter, make you feel at home in every way possible. When we arrived with our 2 year old they already had diapers waiting for us in the room. Peter even drove us to dinner one night at a nearby restaurant. The room we stayed in was large and had a private outdoors area which we enjoyed. The pool was lovely, though a bit chilly in April. The bar was self service, with an honor code where you write down what you consume, adding to the homey feel. I highly recommend this lovely place.

“Like your own private villa”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 December 2011

I have been meaning to write a review since we visited Villa Pampelonne in August.
This is the first review I have ever written but feel the need to praise this place.
Alison and Peter Dow make you feel so welcome to their beautiful villa. We spent 6 nights (staying in two different family rooms to allow us to stay for the six nights) and had the most relaxing and enjoyable stay.
The breakfasts of fresh fruit and ENORMOUS basket of breads and pastries are served in a gorgeous garden. More substantial breakfasts are available if you wish.

Lunches (delicious) are available if ordered before 11am and we had two evenings where Peter cooked an amazing 3 course dinner. All of the guests enjoyed canapes and rose wine on the terrace by the pool before dinner. This is an optional evening, but all the guests chose to take part and it was nice to sit at a long table outside chatting, eating and drinking.

Nothing is too much trouble for Alison and Peter, they will book restaurants, advise on day trips and cater to your every need. Spike their assistant also couldn't be more helpful.

The pool terrace has lovely padded sunloungers and there is an honesty bar for drinks a few steps away, so no trying to catch a waiter's unresponsive eye!

There is an outdoor cinema with sofas for the children (high tech headphones mean no one else hears it) and plenty of outdoor space to play.

Pampelonne Beach is approx a 7 minute stroll away where you can visit Club 55 (for celeb spotting) and many other beach clubs.
St Tropez is 4 km away and Peter will tell you the best places to park and eat.

The beautiful village of Ramatuelle is a few minutes drive away and well worth a visit.

Villa Pampelonne is not cheap (where in the South of France is?) but for such a standard of personal service, it cannot be beaten.

If you are looking for a big, impersonal hotel with 24 hr room service and a casino-this place is not for you. I much prefer small hotels, but with two children (at the time aged 9 + 12 yrs) this is not always an option. I know at certain times, Villa Pampelonne is unavailable for families, so do check.
Anyone looking to have a very special family or friends gathering, could not choose a better place to take over.

My final comment would be, please remember that this is Alison and Peter's home and to treat it with respect. I did witness a small number of customers not bothering to put their used towels in the baskets provided and leaving their glasses ,drinks cans, newspapers etc behind. Alison and Peter would NEVER complain, thinking it was part of the job but does it take that much effort to put a towel in a basket or a can in the bin?

I cannot recommend this place highly enough and I know many, many guests return year after year.

“Ever wish one of your favorite relatives owned a fantastic Villa above the most popular beach in St.Tropez”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 October 2011

We just returned from our new favorite relative’s Villa (at least that’s the way Allison and Peter make you feel) after spending 3 nights with our 2 twenty something daughters while celebrating our 30th anniversary. Everything was PERFECT!!! From the dinner at the hotel to the advice our daughters received on clubbing. If you have the opportunity, just book it!!! You will not be disappointed on any level. This was truly a one of a kind travel experience.
