Despite the mixed reviews, we decided to splurge and stay at this small hotel in the old part of St. Tropez. We had a lovely room at great expense, and, indeed, the hotel is located just a couple of blocks from the main activity on the harbor. A photo of Brigitte Bardot on the table in our room sits like a momento of a family member. The room and common space of this boutique hotel were fine. Our problems did not start until we returned from dinner and a walk around town about 11 pm. The hotel was hosting a wedding in the courtyard just outside our room. The band was extremely loud, but we figured that the music would stop by midnight. Wrong. By 1 am? Wrong. By 2 am? Wrong. The music went on until close to 3 am, and the pounding bass precluded getting any sleep. When we complained the next morning, we were told that they do not have many weddings at the hotel. As we were departing, annoyed, having spent over $500 to be in the middle of a wedding party, and having a sleepless night, another young couple also complained that the band was "in their room." We did not even get an apology. In all of my travels, am I travel quite a bit, I have never seen any hotel so indifferent to hospitality. Avoid this place. The previous comments about arrogance are right on!!
