“Quaint hotel in a great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 June 2011

I have traveled to St Tropez for the past 3 summers and have found this hotel to be the best value in town. The hotel is lovely and quaint. It is clean, albeit old fashioned. The beds are low, rather hard and not at all luxurious. The finishing’s in the bathrooms are average. Our toilet was rather odd, it was a wooden throne. That said, the shower pressure was good and we were comfortable. Our room #35 had great AC and was in the back of the hotel that was extremely quiet at all hours. The pool area was nice, the dinner service around the pool in the evening was lovely (Le Patio) and the overall hotel service was very good. We used the concierge to make our beach club, restaurant and night club reservations in advance through email. Be sure to ask them to confirm the reservations the day of, we had some missing reservations but it all worked out.

The hotel is the perfect location and price vs. some of the surrounding hotels is the selling point. We walked to Le Port and to Le Cave Du Roy easily. The hotel also has an annex building called Le Y around the corner. The rooms here are also nice, but it feels more like an apartment complex that lacks a lobby or pool. You have to walk to use the main hotel, so stay in Le Yaca proper if it is available.

Room Tip: Stay in the main buiding if possible

“Perfect Location - A Gem”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 August 2010

If you are going to St Tropez this is the perfect place.
Unparalled location. You can walk everywhere. They will get you to the beach. If you need anything just ask the Concierge. He can fix most things. Might even help you jump the queue at Les Caves du Roi if you ask him nicely!
A collection of pretty townhouses around a small but pretty pool. Classy clientele.
Book a table for supper round the pool. In the summer they have a singer. It's a great place to kick off the evening with a decent supper before you head off to the fleshpots of St.Tropez.
Very romantic. Each room is different.
Breakfast either by the pool or walk down the hill and sit on the port with a paper, croissant and grand-creme.
I love it here. Streets ahead of impersonal hotels like Byblos or the impersonal and damp rooms of Chateau de la Messadiere.

The hotel is perfect for us. I was there for one week for my honey moon with my husband, we really like the hotel: the room is super clean with very special and original decoration, and from our roo, we can see the samll garden of the hotel, it's really romantic. All the staff are very helpful, they smile all the time! And we like the concierge Michell, he is really a kind gentlemen with a lot of patient! We will come back to this hotel again!

“No concept of hospitality”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 September 2009

Despite the mixed reviews, we decided to splurge and stay at this small hotel in the old part of St. Tropez. We had a lovely room at great expense, and, indeed, the hotel is located just a couple of blocks from the main activity on the harbor. A photo of Brigitte Bardot on the table in our room sits like a momento of a family member. The room and common space of this boutique hotel were fine. Our problems did not start until we returned from dinner and a walk around town about 11 pm. The hotel was hosting a wedding in the courtyard just outside our room. The band was extremely loud, but we figured that the music would stop by midnight. Wrong. By 1 am? Wrong. By 2 am? Wrong. The music went on until close to 3 am, and the pounding bass precluded getting any sleep. When we complained the next morning, we were told that they do not have many weddings at the hotel. As we were departing, annoyed, having spent over $500 to be in the middle of a wedding party, and having a sleepless night, another young couple also complained that the band was "in their room." We did not even get an apology. In all of my travels, am I travel quite a bit, I have never seen any hotel so indifferent to hospitality. Avoid this place. The previous comments about arrogance are right on!!

“TRULY ARROGANT AND TERRIBLE SERVICE”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 July 2009

Of all the luxury hotels I've stayed in all over the world, never did I receive such awful service and face arrogant staff (owner of the hotel).

My friend and I had a rather unfortunate experience during our stay. Besides the fact that they double booked our room and made us leave a few days before our confirmed check-out (first week of August peak season - not a good position to be in for finding another hotel) both of the chairs in our room broke upon using them.

My friend wasn't injured however the wooden leg split on my chair and as we were just back from the beach, the splintered stub of the leg injured my back severely. (we were young 20 something guys in beach shape, so don't know what was wrong w/ their chairs)

I won't go into full details about the inconvenience but lots of clothing was ruined b/c of the injury and the ability to even go to the beach...not to mention the pain.

Le Yaca refused to grant any sort of gesture of goodwill despite all of this. Not a free night or even a bottle of wine. The owner even had the audacity to excahnge a free room for us buying new Swedish design chairs at several thousand a piece.

As a traveler who stays at top hotels all over the world, I was appalled. We ended our stay at the Byblos which was amazing and provided the service one would expect.

I won't dispute most of the praise of others for this hotel, as there is a minimum standard that is provided for the prices. And if you have limited options I'm sure you'll have a nice stay. However, I think the rooms are quite small (although charming) but I think you should bear in mind the other wondeful options in St. Tropez and the type of people who you'll be dealing with if anything goes poorly during your stay.
