We know St Tropez and its hotels extremely well, so what would we recommend? Chateau Le Messardiere (very expensive, a mile or so out of town, but worth it for its stunning views and beautiful decor), the Sube (much, much cheaper and with fairly basic rooms but with St Tropez's best bar - perfect for your morning breakfast and evening drinks... and, if you book a room overlooking the port you're getting just about the best views of what St Tropez is all about).
And then there's Le Yaca... ambience personified. Situated in the centre of the old town and within strolling distance of the port and all those wonderful shops it is, as other reviews say, an oasis of absolute calm. There's not much to it... a large courtyard dominated by a beautiful swimming pool, a small inside bar, a reasonable sized inside restaurant, and, in summer, tables dotted around the pool and its multi-level patios... but it's got it just right.
The rooms are beautifully presented and, while very different, exude St Tropez chic - get one in the original building overlooking the courtyard and you won't be disappointed - and the prices are okay for St Tropez. But it's what it's difficult to explain that makes it just so good... everything feels right for that St Tropez "experience" and, because it does, you, like us, will probably end up going back there again and again. Perfect.
