Fantastic hotel at the Port, only a leisurely 10 minute stroll to the very centre of St Tropez...but with many nice shops along the way :-) The hotel, I believe, was once a farmhouse and further bedrooms have been added. The bedroom we had, a superior, was the Alizes bedroom, and was so quiet we had to set an alarm to get up in the mornings!! It overloked the swimming pool and was very typically french in decor. Lots of white painted furniture, four poster bed, TV and all the other amenities you would expect (except tea/coffee making facilities). Great bathroom with a deep luxurious bath - great way to relax after a hard day in the sun! The patio doors from the bedroom also had french shutters which obviously added to security, kept the room cool and also quiet and dark. The patio itself had two lounging sofas and a table plus a sun lounger all surrounded by beautiful gardens. I am unable to comment on breakfast at the hotel as we wandered into town each morning and sat, with our newspapers, soaking up the atmosphere, french style!! Perfect!! The owners of the hotel were present each morning and were very helpful and friendly. Each evening someone also came to close the shutters to the bedroom if you were late back. After 21:00hours the reception is closed and you are given a key to operate the electronic gates - again, worked perfectly. One of the big bonuses of this hotel is free car parking which can be a nightmare in St Tropez in Summer! Be aware that if you need to park your car outside hotel grounds you should budget £30 per day! We have holidayed for 25 years in the South of France along the coast from Monaco to St Tropez. Whilst I am not suggesting that this hotel is as luxurious as many of the others we have stayed in it most certainly has a very appealing charm with high standards. If you are looking for a hotel near to the centre of town, with an aura of peace and lashings of French charm then look no further........this is the hotel for you!! And finally, as you're just on the edge of town you do not have to negotiate the horrendous town centre traffic en route to the beach :-) :-) :-)
