Just a 12 to 15 minute stroll through a park along the coastal promenade from the centre of St Raphael with its many restaurants, this hotel was clean, quiet, and convenient. The rooms have an oblique view from the balcony of the sea and marina through the trees. The air conditioning temperature is pre-set, and you can turn it off if not required. The outdoor pool has sunbeds, and there is a Spa bath and small gymnasium for the energetic. Breakfast was not bad at 10 Euros for the usual breads, meats, cereals, scrambled eggs, bacon and sausages, but it is only a short stroll to the many cafes and restaurants of the Marina where you can sit in the sun over a coffee and croissant. We even ate in the station cafe in town one day.
We booked through Bookings.com and wondered if a slight problem over twin beds on our arrival might have been sorted quicker if we had booked direct. The price was the same. Fortunately I was able to show them a copy of an email from the hotel confirming our booking.
St Raphael is a pleasant seaside town with both sandy and pebble beaches, many shops, restaurants, boat trips, and a train station. Like a previous reviewer, I would not recommend straying too far west towards Frejus where the sea front gets a bit tacky and busier. In the evenings throughout July and August there is a reasonably good craft market laid out along the front.
All in all, a pleasant alternative to the much busier, glitzier resorts of the Cote d'Azur.
