“tranquil and unique”

We are a family of 4 with 2 teenagers, stayed here for 2 nights at the start of an 11 night holiday, les orangers is certainly not run of the mill, the owners have taken great care in renovating this house into a very comfortable B & B. We had a twin and double room next to one another each with its own furnished terrace. The rooms were clean, spacious and tastefully furnished with antiques, the bedding was really lovely quality and the beds very comfortable, bathrooms were well appointed and generous. The breakfast was served on a beautifully laid table overlooking the garden with fruit trees and jasmine. We enjoyed fresh croissant, bread, cheese, ham, yogurts, fruit, freshly squeezed orange juice, delicious coffee and hot chocolate. What a treat! The pool area was great for relaxing and cooling off, Thomas even brought us some welcome cold drinks while we lazed in the sun! We loved the tranquility of the place, it would be lovely to return again.

“Spectacular Oasis.... search no further !!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 August 2011

A 20 minute drive from Nice Airport, I arrived at an enclave of serenity and stunning oasis in the midst of orange and lemon groves. The rooms are well decorated, very comfortable, spotlessly clean, modern bathroom, and the balcony provides a most relaxing view of the nearby mountains. Breakfast is served in an enchanting environment sourrounded by exotic vegetation. How would you like to taste fresly squeezed orange juice that's picked from nearby orange trees ? How about a superb espresso coffee made by the barrista who demands perfection..... freshly ground coffee made by a Cimbali espresso machine... now that's special. Almost forgot to mention the home made marmalades a la Portugese, fresh croissants & baquettes, cheese and ham..... lunch won't be necessary. The pool is clean and most relaxing after spending many hours sightseeing. The location of Les Orangers is GREAT..... minutes from the the village of Saint Paul de Vence (you could walk), and a short drive to Vence, Nice, Eze Village, Monaco, Monte Carlo, Cannes, Saint Tropez (oh la la .... what traffic, should have gone to Cannes and taken the ferry to Saint Tropez). It was my home base for daily trips to the mountain regions visiting Moustiers Sainte-Marie, Bargeme, Aups, Tourtour, etc. This is a brief synopsis of my 11-day stay at Les Orangers.... have tried other nearby B&Bs but they were not spectacular . If you are lucky, you may be able to reserve a room at Maison d'Hote Les Orangers ... good luck !

“A place we call heaven”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 July 2011

Having been there for my 3rd visit, I really can't wait to return. We really love this place! Just far enough outside the noise of the centre, but close enough to the fun, this place is perfectly placed for a visit to this wonderful citadel.
The friendly owners made our stay most enjoyable, again. The rooms, the beds, the pool and the ambience make it all just heavenly.

Room Tip: try and get a room overlooking the orange grove!

“Some moments of pure and simple happiness”

I stayed at Les Orangers in June and spent a most relaxing, restful, inspiring and happy week there. The room was lovely, furnished with taste and care - as everything else is - and immaculately clean. The little private terrace surrounded by lavender, rosemary and flowers, with a view of the orange and lemon trees in the garden, was perfect for reading and writing or surfing the internet (if you have your laptop). The owners have been very friendly and helpful and I've particularly enjoyed the chats over a glass of wine. Lying by the charming pool, listening to the owl and the gentle rippling sound of the water is great for daydreaming (in spite of the distant sound of the road).
From Les Orangers there is plenty you can do as well, even if you don't have a car. I took daily trips to St. Paul (it's a ten minutes walk) to enjoy a drink at Le café de la Place or an exquisite meal at Le Tilleul or to visit the Fondation Maegh among other things. There is also a bus that takes you to the nearby villages, Cagnes-sur-Mer or Nice.
Bref, I really fell in love with the place and can highly recommend it!

“Charming get away, perfect for exploring Cote d'Azur”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 June 2011

When we planned our trip to Cote d'Azur we were looking for a quiet and charming place to stay, away from the tourist hussle and bustle, however with easy access to all the great spots of the region. Les Orangers met all our needs and went way beyond our expectations.Thomas and Marquesa are charming, kind and helpful hosts: it is a real treat to share with them a glass of wine and a sparkling conversation in the evening, on the terrace. The house is amazing, Thomas's love for antiques turned it into a warm and lively place. We were lucky to get one of the rooms with a small own terrace and direct access to the orange orchard . Breakfasts were delicious: a nice touch was the freshly squeezed orange juice, even if the orange season was over. Our hosts simply anticipated our expectations when seeing the orange orchard at our room door! Wonderful place and hosts, we would love to come back!

Room Tip: Ask for a room with direct access to the orchard
