“Bed Bugs!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

The bed bugs were biting the h3ll out my wife and myself. We had to sleep in the bed fully clothe. Dont go there... The breakfast sucks!! There are only 3 or 4 cabs for the whole city. Rent a car because the hotel bus stop running at 10 or 11pm. There is one lady working at the front desk that needs to be fired as she is very rude.

One more thing the gym is not a gym... the equipment is from the 1970's and broken.

“Beautiful place!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 August 2011

The place was beautiful. Every room has a balcony with great views! Pool is very nice, staff isnt exactly jumping at the chance to help. Everything is pricey (continental breakfast is 20 euros a person). We parked for free on the road instead of paying for the underground parking.

“Could be fantastic but isn't”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 August 2011

This hotel has a beautiful position looking over the St Tropez Bay. The reason behind such varied comments about the rooms is probably that depending which area you are in some rooms have not been renovated. We luckily were in the 400 area where carpets had been replaced by tiles, tv were flat screen and bathroom was in a good state end clean.(careful you don't slip) The view from the balcony is spectacular!
However this hotel is a let down to the 4star it claims for several reasons. Although it is equipped with a bar and restaurant these aren't open. The room service is very limited, and finishes at 21h30 so impossible to get a as much as a cup of tea after 21h30.(it was rough as had food poisoning and really would have appreciated room service or being able to pick something up in a bar.) The restaurant in the golf club is the only walkable possibility nearby.
Shuttles to town are so infrequent and finish at 18h30 so if you don't have your own vehicule I wouldn't recommend the hotel.
The pool bar and towel stand only starts opening at 10h. so you have to hang around waiting unless you arrive and go and get your towel during the limited opening hours.
Pool is great for families, but during school holidays I would avoid it if you are a couple or adults not into the noisy, splashy ambiance while you try to relax on your sun bed!Nearby beaches are great.
Reception personnel are friendly but the whole hotel has and old half closed feel about it as if running the bar area and other amenities would be too expensive so they just leave them closed. The reception hall is beautifull but then corridors with the old carpets are really grubby.
If you get a good deal and like driving and going out every night for meals using the hotel only for sleeping it is a good option. 20 euros for breakfast seems exaggerated when you can get a lovely fresh half baguette butter, of jams, juice and cappuccino on a café terrace for 5euros even in the pittoresque village of Ramatuelle.

Room Tip: Ask for rooms with tiles, ask for mini bar if it isn't in your room when you arrive.

“Rude and unfriendly reception staff”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 July 2011

We arrived at the hotel Saturday morning around 11. Instead of being greeted by the reception staff, the first thing they said in French in a very impolite manner was that check-in was not until 3pm.

I asked friendly if we could already take care of all the administrative formalities and leave the car in the garage. It felt as if a huge favor was extended to us, by allowing us to do so. I then asked if we could get some pool towels to take with us to the beach. The unfriendly lady (ponytail, brown hair with thin eyebrows) said no, but at the same time her "a little friendlier "colleague (big lady with blond hair) said yes. So yes it was, fortunately for us.

The hotel itself is a bit outdated, and could use some extensive refurbishment. The stairs in the hotels, the elevators and the different levels of the different buildings are a bit confusing. It takes a while to get from your room to i.e the pool or the parking garage.

Two good things, the staff at the poolbar is very friendly. The views from the rooms are spectacular.

“Very disappointing and overpriced”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 July 2011

This hotel is very basic. The quality of the rooms is like a cheap hotel in a holiday desitination that you get in some last minute package for teenagers. It is ok in terms of cleanliness but not comfortable at all. Everything looks a bit shabby around like it has been left to fall apart for the last 10 years.
The staff are friendly but very slow. It took 15 minutes to check out. As people on here say it is deserted and far too far from any civilisation.
St Maxime only has 2 taxis so if you do not have a rental car or want to have a few drinks then you will have trouble getting back from town. I didn't try other hotels but I certainly would not return here. Vastly overpriced also, I don't mind paying for a nice hotel and business even covered this but it was appauling.
