“Near Train Station”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 January 2011

Just a one block from the Train Station, near typically restaurants, laundry just a one block, internet coffees and typically French markets on the neighborhood and easy to move by bus… the downtown is like a 10-15 min walking but is a really nice walk thru the heart of the city of there a bus or tram to take.
The staff during the night doesn’t speak English very well so if you need something is better during the day with the lady of the front desk. Breakfast was poor and very “French”. The room is ok with TV but the Shower is very small and the doors are too heavy to close and sink was not working very well.

“Dissapointed..the worst hotel I have ever been to!”

I stayed in Azurea from 30.12.2010-2.1.2011. The agency we were travelling with, booked it. First of all that hotel does not deserve 3*. Rooms are very small and not clean at all. When we first came in, the room had this damp smell and we had to open the balcony for 20 min every day, to make it bearable. Our friends' room was a mess when they first came in. The beds were unmade as if someone was using it. The beds were cozy, but the quilt was so old and full of stains, that my boyfriend refused to use it, it ended up in the closet. The sheats were not chaged during our visit. The balcony door was old and poorly isolated, so the room was cold and we had to turn the a/c up to 27°c to get it warm. There were also a safe, a tv and refrigerator in our room. We didn't use the safe so I can't review it. But the refrigerator was small and ours was also leaking and didn't work so we didn't use it. The floor was dirty. The bathroom was clean, but there was mold in the corners. Some towels were old and were tearing apart. We had to get our chip fixed every day, because once we left the room we could not open it again. The staff does not speak english, but the receptionist was nice. They serve continental breakfast, which was good. We were very dissappoined the last night of our stay, because there were people shouting and running on our floor in the middle of the night and the staff didn't even bother to stop them. So overall, the only plus I can find is the location. It's near train station and 15 min away from center and beach, although it is not a street I would be willing to walk alone in the evening. I would only recommend this hotel to people who are on tight budget, don't expect too much and are prepared for some surprises.

“Its a Rat Hole and smells like a sewer!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 May 2010

Stayed during the F1 for 3 nights in May 2010

This is definitely not a 3 star hotel, Im amazed how it got a rating at all. Stayed at room 511, which is in the back corner of the hotel. The toilet stank like a sewer, the stench was unbearable. We had to keep the windows and even the door open most of the time. We complained to staff, whos only solution was to soak everything in airfreshner. They also instructed us to cover the drains with tissue to stop the odours!
We later discovered there is a sewer treatment plant next to the hotel.

The sheets are horrible and are dirty white, they never changed the towels in 3 nights, which was falling apart. There was no fridge, barely any furniture, fresh paint peeling off the walls, overall the room was cheap and nasty.

Breakfast was very questionable we saw staff putting cereal back in dispensers!!!

There are alot of bums hanging around outside, but thats normal with any hotel near the Nice central station!

“Makes Fawlty Towers look 5 Star”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2010

The hotel was booked as a package through Easyjet in the UK incorporating flights and accommodation. Conveniently located near the airport bus and train station, our first impression on walking into the hotel lobby was it looked modern and clean. We booked 4 rooms including a quad share. First double room they gave us hadn't been cleaned or beds made, then moved to a room that was mid way through being renovated with drop sheets everywhere, next room tried had cupboard doors hanging off and stank of cigarettes despite being told it was a no smoking hotel. Finally given an acceptable room, however, toilet not attached to ground and wobbled everytime sat on. Shower head exploded when used in 3 out of 4 rooms we booked. No mattress protectors or pillow protectors on the beds. Room keys cancelled most days and had to be re-set. Hotel checked other guests into our rooms whilst we were in them. One of our rooms requested was a quad share - only 3 beds provided. Noisy location with a lot of night time yelling in the street below. A Continental breakfast was provided and was quite good when and if the coffee / juice machines weren't broken. Hotel staff generally disinterested and unhelpful. No one seemed to have a clue what rooms where occupied or vacant. Only reason we stayed 3 nights instead of checking out immediately was there was 9 of us travelling.
